Thought I would still anothers words off the washington forum, he spelled it out and I think is right on the money.

Im sure that the few that are reading this has already read it from WPS but I am trying to generate a little more Oregon Chat.

Here it is from Heat Miser:

I probably won't have time to tackle this during the work week, so here are my predicitons for GU13 CQT's which start Friday, August 3rd. The top four teams in each bracket move on to PQT's the following weekend, to determine who plays in Premier Gold, Silver, and Division 1. Teams that don't finish at least fourth in their bracket are eliminated from the tournament, and will play either Division 2 or Classic in the Fall.

    Bracket 1

    1. Timbers Red
    2. OSA
    3. THUSC
    4. Grants Pass YSC
    5. Eugene Metros Phoenix
    6. Roseburg Baird
    7. Centennial Soccer Club (East County)

Timbers should have a pretty easy go of it. I originally thought Eugene Metros would finish second in this bracket, but they haven't had the best results in tournament play this summer. This is the first year Grants Pass has fielded a team in this age group, and they usually field decent teams. OSA, THUSC, Grants Pass, and Eugene could finish in any combination of 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

    Bracket 2

    1. SSC Ireland
    2. Camas Magic
    3. FC Willamette Atletica
    4. CFA Red Hots
    5. Canby Mystics
    6. ESU Reading
    7. Silver Falls Geckos

A couple of surprises in this bracket. ESU Reading, formerly Dundee made huge progress from U11 to U12. I've noticed they've struggled a bit this summer, thus knocking them down toward the bottom. I saw Camas play Timbers Red at Rainier in May and they looked very good. They have a legitmate shot at making Gold. FC Willamette Atletica, formerly CFC Atletica is a solid team, but lacks scoring. CFA Red Hots also is a solid team, that should move on to PQT's.

    Bracket 3

    1. FC Willamette Possession
    2. Bridlemile Black Magic
    3. Hillsboro Alliance
    4. OR Rush 94G Nike
    5. LOSC Edge
    6. PCU Reign

There shouldn't be too many surprises in this bracket. FC Willamette should have an easy go of it, but could receive a tough challenge from an improving Bridlemile Black Magic team. The Hillsboro Alliance, formerly the Tidal Waves should have a pretty firm grip on 3rd, with the last three teams being pretty similar in skill.

    Bracket 4

    1. FC Portland Marine
    1. WSM Energy
    3. FC Vancouver Xplosion
    4. McMinnville Fusion
    5. Rogue Valley
    6. Hillsboro Strikers
    7. Sherwood Rage

Shu, I know you aren't too happy with your bracket, and I would say rightfully so. I guess on the bright side, the games between the top three teams will be very well attended, which should make it even more exciting. My schedule will allow me to watch your game against FC Portland, which should be the match of the tournament. Ireland has played all three teams this summer, and I think WSM and FC Portland have the edge over FC Vancouver, but not by much. The game between WSM and FC Portland is really a pick em, its that close. FC Portland has more of a scoring punch than WSM, but WSM has a better back line. If the game ends in a tie, FC Portland probably will win the bracket based on their ability to score more goals and have a better goal differential. All three teams IMO deserve to play in gold.

Watch out for FC Vancouver, they are big, pretty fast, and capable of beating anyone as FC Willamette found out at FC Portland Cup. I'm going to give MYSA the four slot on the basis of having better athletes than the other three teams, which should be enough to get them to PQT's.

    Bracket 5

    1. FCSC Nemesis
    2. Bend Storm
    3. LOSC Dynamite
    4. SSC Eclipse
    5. PCU Ice
    6. FC Porltand Aqua
    7. OR Rush 94G Swoosh

Here is another bracket that is very top heavy with Premier teams. Nemesis is without question the most improved team playing in Oregon this year. They have been diligently playing friendlies all summer long against very good competition which should have them battle ready for CQT's. I think the games against Bend and LO will be close, but I think at this point in time Nemesis is slightly better than Bend, and LO. Bend gets the two hole, based on continuing to win tight games against LO, plus they have improved in goal by picking up one of LO's goalkeepers just recently. Don't count out LO. When they come ready to play, they are capable of beating good teams. The four slot is a toss up between SSC Eclipse, formerly Eire, and PCU Ice. These teams recently played to a 1-1 tie, so it could come down to their head to head match.

    Bracket 6

    1. ESUFC Sunderland
    2. OUSA Ginga
    3. WUSC Rapids
    4. LOSC Fire
    5. Sherwood Sting
    6. Thelo 94 Carl

This bracket is totally up for grabs. ESUFC Sunderland has improved over last year, and based on the competition they've played this summer look to be the best team in this bracket. I haven't seen Ginga play this summer, but they appear competitive, as does WUSC. I saw WUSC play ECFC White at LO which I believe ended in 0-0 tie. WUSC made it to quarterfinals last year, but they struggled at their own tournament in June against weak opposition. I think the true surprise team out of this bracket could be LOSC Fire, formerly Knockouts.

Good luck to everyone. It promises to be a very exciting weekend of soccer.

Small Town, you will be considerably closer than the rest of your team. Looks like you made the better choice!

Small Town & Eggy - Good luck this weekend. With the way the brackets are arranged, one good team is going to get royally screwed and end up in Division 1. I hope it's neither of your teams. If the teams all play the way I know they are capable of playing, I would guess Lake Oswego will be the unfortunate team. However, anything is possible. My daughters team has not been the most consistent team. I just hope they don't find themselves on the short end of the stick. Drive safe and hopefully I'll get a chance to meet the both of you. I met Yogdogg and I've chatted with Heat Miser a number of times. Take care!

                    Hello from England

:D Having Fun over here, and my sons team is doing well. Made quarters at Man U cup lost in pk's to a man U feeder team. They are currently leading there group at the Newcastle U tournament. Anyway back to U-13 G It is too bad about the bracketing. I am going to miss seeing the games and my DD, it is a fun group to watch. I wish everyone luck and if you can post scores here that would be great, I can keep tuned to how they played here.
