Thisn is all so predictably hilarious. For example, Bridgetown was so against ECNL because of the travel it was just plain entertaining. Now they are all in on GA and the travel is now suddenly fine. They do a 180 the second they are “in.”

This is the ongoing Oregon soccer stupidity. DOCs and Coaches used to whine we needed to consolidate talent so we can compete outside Oregon. Of course they only meant THEY should be the ones to consolidate talent. ECNL comes into the picture and all these same clubs can’t stop b!tching about it for all sorts of nonsensical reasons. Now a new GA is here and we have a new set of clubs embracing travel soccer. Oh and this new GA league is better because they say so.

The point being these morons running oregon youth soccer will literally say and do whatever benefits their pocketbooks. Oregon soccer is run by crooks with absolutely no integrity.

Like another poster mentioned going to great tourney's with great teams is a privilege extended to very few Oregon teams. Going to 'name' tourneys and playing in the middle to bottom flights is laughable. Leaving Oregon to play average club teams out of state in a 'league' is pure comedy when the club leadership also tells you must play HS Soccer in Oregon. Huh??? Are parents really this stupid? Come on, say it aint so.
Come on you can’t be that dumb.

Traveling to big tournaments always lights a fire under the kids and they work really hard and get better. They get to play against really good teams.

In my experience traveling has made my kids much better soccer players. One has had very successful college experience so far.

Plus it’s really fun. So why not.

If you want to get better you really need to be involved in big games. You aren’t getting that here. You play those teams already.

          To each their own.

Being team number 257 out of 258 in the big tourney really lights a fire under our pile of disposable cash, we worked really hard for that cash, it just doesn't get any better.

            You are that dumb.

Perhaps you should have worked harder. I am not trying to make light of the fact you are not successful. I’m sure a lot of people feel sympathy for you.

If you can’t afford it, stay home. No need to feel bad about it.

You know how many hours you half to work to fly to California? And stay in a hotel? And eat out? And pay for fees and coaches beer money? About 80 hours for one stinking trip! I wasn’t born yesterday. I work hard for my Benjamin’s and Im not burning them up to pay for a coaches micro brews at the hotel bar or stripe club. My dim kid sits on the bench anyway. Dumb.

Girls travel league soccer is a result of has been parents trying to re create their failed youth sports experiences through their poor unsuspecting daughters. Parents are so wrapped up in it that they are easily manipulated by the bozos running Oregon youth Soccer. It’s hysterical to watch. A new Netflix series in the making called “Has Been Soccer Dads” a spin off of “Dance Moms” is coming to a field near you.

I don't like being called a bozo. It takes a high degree of intelligence and cunning people skills to not only pull off what is one of the biggest cons of all time but be praised for it. Shoot I even get awards from national associations.

Girls soccer has been so easy to create an environment where the players feel elite, will pay $8,000 to $12,000 a year to do it, and come back the next year and do it again. You just have to put a ribbon in their hair and tell mommy and daddy how special their little Suzie is. For me it is eight or so mini vacations a year all expenses paid. I am considering increasing my potential income by developing an accent and even inflating my resume more that it is.

I am no bozo, I have fouled thousand of people over my career selling hope and the fear you will be left behind in the soccer world. If you don't pay me you will certainly not get one of the thousands of title nine scholarships out there or even worse won't pay division 3 sports which is even a bigger con than youth soccer. (Oh if I could just get to D3) Each team I coach generates over a $150,000 per year. If you are looking for a bozo look in the mirror.

P.S. Do the math on a D3 college sports team. The smartest people on the plant are the D3's athletic programs. 36 players paying $35,000 a year in tuition = $1.260.000 Not bad for putting a few cones out and buying them pizza after a game.
