Hey, just found this site yesterday. Was looking forward to reading all things local HS age girls soccer. My daughter is a freshman and eats and breathes soccer, so I thought I'd do some research and here I am.
Looks like some pretty heated conversations going on, but I'm cool with that. Love seeing all the behind the scenes club info.
    Curious why everybody is "UNREGISTERED"?

And is this the best place to hear all the latest on local soccer, here? I'll take any recommendations. I noticed nobody is sharing where there kids play, is that frowned upon.

Thanks for your patience with me, new to this type of thing.

    Run away.
Everyone is unregistered so they can be mean and nasty.
    This forum is a cesspool.
Let your daughter have soccer as her own thing.

Are there other forums? Doesn't seem like much traffic here.

Just wanted to read peoples different opinions on ECNL/high school soccer. Different clubs around the city/state. We live in Portland, and my daughter made the jump to ECNL last year after a season of my daughter playing on her club team and CU as a developmental player. Been very happy with the experience so far. Just was looking fro a spot to read up on whats going on around the state.

Is there another forum with heavier traffic?

Was wanting to chat with some people whose kids are older and have been through all this before.
I'm the one who started this thread. I guess with nobody being registered it might be hard to tell. Thanks.

Some people will exchange honest information on here. Some will post nonsense due to bias and jealousy, among other reasons. If you can sift through it, there is some decent info/opinions posted here.

Instead of dealing with the harsh narratives on this site, it's far better to listen to the local soccer bum tell you if you want to play in college you must get privates from him and play travel soccer with 'xyz' association.

Pick you poison, free garbage here year round or pay $15K a year to the local soccer bum for their spoon feed garbage.

Those who opt for the latter, claim it's their money and most importantly their choice, which is a brilliant point & sums up nicely, no pun intended.

Damn. Why are you so upset? You child have a bad experience with ECNL? Been fantastic for us so far. Our daughter is thriving and playing with more skilled players and against better competition than she was with her club team. Thats what I thought it was about.......

Curious what league have you been playing in the last 4 months that's so enriching with 'more' skilled players and vs better competition than her club team?

In Oregon the only league that aligns with your fantasy experience would be the now defunct US Soccer DA, that had no Oregon club teams just the NWSL Thorns Youth Academy squads and the nations top Girls clubs.

Word on the street due to the DA folding our Portland Pro Academy Youth Girls had to drop down to the local neighborhood kiddo club level (US Club) for at least one year until they can find a better league for their elite talent.

You are so confused that you don't even know the name of your neighborhood club that your daughter supposedly played for?

I agree having honest posts that tell it straight like the one you are highlighting is something we all yearn for and wish they would show up much more often.

Find the Girls 01 thread and read from the start to the end. Quality info.
