    Which is it ?

Well, earlier you said the Couver and Capitol teams had lots of D1 and D2 commits. Seems like they have had plenty of success in getting to the next level without ECNL and GDA.

    So which is it?
    I will type slow.

The 03 girls would have had MUCH MORE (meaning they are having success now like the 02 Vancouver and 01 Capitol teams) if they would have played or will play ECNL and GDA.

This is a simple fact these two avenues are being more heavily recruited then OYSA. What is also a simple fact is the new Oregon Premier League isn't going to draw any college coaches and good luck getting into those showcases not playing in a competitive league.

Such a sad day for this team. Not only have the players full potential been denied by not playing in a highly competitive league but now they will sink the team to the OPL.

Clearly, you don't understand the youth soccer calendar. 2020 season goes through the summer. Followed by HS season. Then 2021 (local) season begins. Which leaves December through Spring for the 03's. Their futures are already determined by then, for all but one or two. And those likely are deciding between playing D2 or D3 and going to college as a regular student. Next winter/spring is for fun, playing a few more showcases. The local league doesn't matter anymore, for 03's. Not so sad, frankly.

And, these girls did pretty darn well, not playing ECNL/GDA. Multiple D1 commits, at some of the country's best programs. More commits coming in the weeks/months ahead. When all said and done, this particular group likely ends up with the most commits per team in Oregon, at this age group, while never playing an ECNL/GDA game.

ECNL/GDA (DA for boys) and OYSA are not necessary for a player to be recruited by top colleges. This particular group of players validates it.

True. The BSC/HSC/GPS/OUFC/LASC 03g&b teams don’t need a league any longer. High School and tournaments will be enough for Senior year. Between those two teams there are four players verbally committed.

This. This is for a few months Jan thru spring for the 03s who will almost all be seniors. Their college choices will be made by then. Don’t see any big downside. They have already put in the work in the leagues and showcases and id camps. Same for ecnl and GDA 03s.

Really !!!! Keep drinking the cool aid. The most critical time for these 2021's will be Jan through June. They need to be training and playing big games getting ready for college. That is 10 OYSA league games, maybe 6 state cup games, 10 NNL games they are missing.

They need to get to college playing at the of their game especially if they are going to top tier programs.

The work isn't done ! The journey just started and it could be short if they don't go into late summer 2021 as the top freshman recruit they university recruited. Taking it easy their senior year, playing less games is just plane stupid and shows your complete ignorance to what is in store for them. Not only ignorance you complete lack of caring for these players. For those players lucky enough to get a scholarship it is a year to year thing. Don't perform your money is gone. Every year coaches are trying to replace players with better talent, that is their job, don't be the player on the replacement list your first day of college. Yes it happens all the time.

Players don't believe this, you need to turn it up a level now. Every year players leave for big colleges and never play a minute, control you destiny.

              Already determined

              "Their futures are already determined"

Wow determined? December through spring for fun. Fun for these girls should be top training and games. With the guidance of the poster not many if any will do well in college.

Jump ship? Why? Plenty more opportunities to solidify your college decision. More showcases, ID camps, etc. Are you new here?

Drink up. Who said the work was done, or the games are not being played? Do you know how many frickin games are available to girls (or boys) at this age group? And OYSA isn't the only place. Get real my brother, get real. Or, start working to save your beloved OYSa.

I find it amusing when a poster starts out criticizing a team or a group of players, then once realizing the criticism isn't warranted, they try to post/argue on their behalf.

Then how do you account for multiple current seniors playing regular old oysa players playing only oysa and the Northwest conference (not NL) and high school soccer and multiple other sports and going off to D1 colleges like Oregon and Arizona among others? Their oysa games are very weak. Playing in a different weak league isn’t going to hurt any of next year’s seniors. They will still do showcases and stuff.
