Safer to cancel soccer. If the virus was linked to a kid at a single school that could be better contained, but if the kid goes to soccer and practices with kids from 5 schools or plays a game with kids from 10 schools then it could spread more, I guess.

Just seems like an easy decision to me. Let’s not play for a few weeks. The game isn’t going anywhere

I think schools are bigger cesspools than soccer fields, if only because you are in confined spaces for a number of hours. It is why flu season typically ends when school year ends.

Not necessarily disagreeing about cancelling soccer; in terms of magnitude of risk though, think schools are bigger ones.

I think the safe move would be to call off games this weekend and let this play out for another 7days. It won’t hurt anything

Individual games aren’t at risk because there are so few people and they can all keep distance. One more weekend. State Cup is a a bigger issue due to a much larger group. My guess is they’ll play out the league games and then decide on State Cup. If State Cup is cancelled, they’ll have finished the league games and then the league winners will qualify for Regionals. If Regionals don’t get cancelled too, which is a definite possibility.

not sure there are more or less people at league or state cup games. Not sure what the difference would be.

Cancel to slow the spread. Keep the hospitals from getting overloaded.

The average age of Coronavirus deaths is 80 years old.

So healthy people will likely feel tired and get the chills.

Yes, slow the spread! The countries that don’t respond quickly and thoroughly, have many more deaths.

I'm surprised OYSA hasn't done so yet.
