Thorns Academy is a joke. What a waste of time those teams are spending getting trounced near double digits. They wouldn’t even be the best in Oregon let along outside of it.

Ouch 9-0. The whole thing is just such a bad format with games being so scattered. I don't see how teams can really improve when you haven't played a game in months and then don't play again for a few weeks. No consistency what so ever.

I feel bad for the girls. Can't be fun to get shellacked like that and then have the other team pass the ball around for 40 mins.

The u18's gave up 5 goals in the first 20 minutes. If you assume a minute or two reset time that is 5 goals in about 12 minutes of play. Ouch.

I have an idea.

When the opponent gets a five goal lead they should allow them to have a second keeper.

When the lead hits 7 goals they should get an additional defender.

At 9-0 they should get to have two keepers and two additional defenders. 15 v 11

If you are losing 9-0 that’s probably a sign.

I know a couple kids were B teamers on high school teams that are now on thorns. So the level of quality might be part of the issue.

9-0 is tough but there are important life lessons. Learning how to lose is good. That will serve them well when they get older.

You have to let girls try out for high school. If they don't make varsity that means they are good to go for Thorns Academy play. You need players so you can't be choosey.
