First there will not be any 08B Timbers Youth team anytime soon due to this new league.

Do you realize none of our local clubs are in this new platform (nor should they be). Just the MLS Portland Timbers are listed and they will only field youth teams at u15 & U17. Also they can pick their youth players from anyplace in the world. So very little PDX/OR flavor.

Ask yourself in 10 Seasons how many Oregonians or Home Growns on the 1st team MLS Timbers can you name? maybe 1 or 2 if you really try hard.

This proposed new league is a non starter for Oregon Club Kids, but it's impressive California has 20 clubs coming in and only a few are MLS Academies.

Now the bigger question is who will replace their current local kiddie TA staff when they recruit/sign youth players they want to groom to be future professionals. New Normal is right.

Hi, as a poster who pretends to know the truth- please answer the following.
1. Where did MLS say no 08 teams? Please source.
2. When did the TA say no 08's? Again source?
3. Non starter for Oregon club kids? Who do you speak for in this case?
4. TA recruiting kids from outside areas start at what age? Source?
5. Please let me know how many Oregon platers are in pro leagues across the world. Names and ages please.

The answer to all the questions above is that this poster has no idea. None.

Not OP but glad my instructors always said that we couldn't use Wikipedia as a legitimate cited source in our research.

In this case, I see that the list was last updated in 2009, so names are missing. Makes sense since anyone can write up a Wikipedia piece.

Not OP either, but asking who is a PRO player from Oregon is a pretty wide open question and has nothing to do with all the questions that were addressed relating to the Timbers plans with their own Youth Academy going forward, post Coronavirus...I give em a pass on that out of left field question. Since It's not relevant to this discussion. Jus sayin. My instructors always said be guided by common sense...
