True that ties are dumb though.

Top 5 6A:
1. Jesuit: will beat Mtside tonight 5-0 and my prediction will be the clear winner this year in the finals.
2. W. Salem: tough to read. Comes up big vs. U of J, then ties South. Conference pretty weak, not the best way to prepare for deep playoff run, but for me still deserving of #2
3. Mtside: lot of hype with this group. They have tanked against quality teams, and my prediction will be another huge loss tonight. Quality players, but I'll blame the coaching staff for poor showing against the top teams.
4. Sunset: here's my sleeper. Always manage to stick around in the end. Although early lost to S. Eugene, tough schedule with good results. Close results agains quality teams indicate to me a young squad. Should take care of Southridge tonight.
5. Sherwood: good result against W. Salem so had to put this team in the top 5. Also beat the teams they should beat. Let's see what they do against Camas this week.

Agree with your Sunset sleeper pick.

Jesuit will obviously win it all but I think Sunset, Mountainside and South Eugene all have a chance to be the bridesmaid.

No wonder nobody cares about the high school game. Thunderous bootball the lot of it. Even big Sam would be embarrassed.
The game is no uglier than what you see the Thorns Academy play.
You take the top 15 high school teams and any of them would beat the Thorns by 3 goals.

SEugene, Salem, Sherwood and Barlow have very weak strength of schedules for rest of season. MS has a golden opportunity.
Score was 6-1.

The U19 Thorns would smoke any HS varsity team not named Jesuit, and would probably beat Jesuit as well--and again, age would have something to do with it. Unlike the U16s and U17s, the U19s are a good team with a solid roster.
And of course, any of the top U15 boys teams in the state would kick the everlasting crap out of any HS girls team, Jesuit included.

Who mentioned the Thorns in this? Just because something may be uglier than you doesn't make you pretty.
What age? I would expect the top HS varsity teams to easily beat the U14 or U15 Thorns, simpy on account of age--seniors against freshmen (or 8th graders!) would not be a fair match. I would expect top HS varsity teams to beat the U16 and U17 Thorns, also on account of age (though less so) and because these two age groups stink for Thorns.

Jesuit, Moutainside, and West Salem would easily beat Thorns U19s
