No one getting out of bracket at regionals is a second tier team.

But let’s point out that when CU says they are the best because they beat mediocre teams in ecnl, that they aren’t even in the top 25 in USYS.

Same with their 03s. Probably good in Ecnl but not even close to top 50 in the country among all leagues da USYS and Ecnl.

Actually, just about every team at USYS Regionals is a 2nd, or 3rd tier team behind 1st tier - ECNL and 2nd/3rd tier - GDA.

If you advance out of group stage in USYS regionals, you're likely a top 25 team in your age group, or close to it. At least in the discussion.

Unfortunately, the various leagues don't like to play each other so they all can claim to be #1 and nobody can prove otherwise. Shickenchits.

There are 4 regions in USYS alone - advancing to quarter finals means you are in the top 32 in USYS, which means you "might" be in the top 100 in your age group nationally - but probably not even that good

You have no facts to base your opinion. First of all, anyone older than 06 doesn’t play in the USYS system. Secondly, Region IV is either the best or close to best region in the nation and CU 06 was in the top 8. Finally, the premise of mediocre ECNL teams isn’t well founded. Wash Premier did well in Boise. 3 of the 8 quarterfinalists at 06 were ECNL (CU, Colorado Rapids, and Eastside FC). The other 5 are pre-DA. It shows what we all know. ECNL and DA are stronger leagues. Southern California DA teams are the best ..

Region IV USYS is far from the best region nationally. Half of California doesn't even participate in USYS, nor do any of the ECNL or GDA teams - almost all of which are better than USYS teams.

USYS Nevada beat em? Whoa. Their group play must of been really weak. It happens. At least they found out the US Club league in the NW is a joke compared to regionals. Good learning experience for the parents who have been paying to travel and play garbage teams in US club.. Last time you will play for a championship.

When they get knocked out by a Nevada team it highlights the lack of quality in Oregon Girls club soccer.

Fact: 99% of parents reading this have a player who will not play at the D1 level. Their college future can be secured playing DA, ECNL, or OYSA. So the non crazy people on here would appreciate it if you quit turning every thread into an argument over which sucks more - ECNL or DA. Do whatever you like. We don’t care. And respect other families’ right to do the same.
