Looks like Westside are the big winners this year. The only team with more than one club in the QF's and they made the most of the 00G spot that fell in their laps after Salmon Creek and Eugene didn't want to be bothered with regionals.

Speaking of which, there is no better example of clubs with misplaced priorities than SC and Eugene having their families spend thousands to travel to regionals in Hawaii last year, and turning up their nose at Idaho. I guess it's not really about the soccer, is it?

FCSC went to Hawaii because the team was juniors and sophomores who in some cases needed recruitment opportunities. They didn't go to Idaho because they no longer needed recruitment opportunities and the seniors are all preparing to report to their various collegiate programs. The plan all along was to end the team by winning State Cup - mission accomplished.

My understanding is that the Eugene team was mostly juniors so I don't get why they would turn down a cheap trip to a good recruiting event. Any Eugene parents want to weigh in?

Not a Eugene parent but also curious why their team didn't go to Idaho. Looking at the Regional site, it looks like the Westside '00 girls have 2 juniors and 5 sophomores on the team. I had expected them to be done in the QF as the other team is mostly seniors and 2 college players. I just checked and they did lose, but only 1-2. This had to be quite the opportunity to showcase for recruiters.

What a tiny tiny jealous and bitter person you are! That Thusc/CU team dominated OYSA play and made it to the quarters at Regionals, losing 4-2 and you want to bash them?! That means that all of OYSA 06 teams would never have even made it to the quarters but if played that same Albion “2nd tier team at best” team tomorrow, would lose like 10-0. If I was at that game, I’d be cheering on whichever OYSA team and wouldn’t be bashing them either.

Ignore losers like the above poster and know that most of us are proud of all of our teams at Regionals, especially the 6 that made it to quarter finals. Now we’re all rooting for the Westside 00s to go all the way! Let’s go Oregon!
