If a champion chooses not to go then the finalist is offered the spot. If the finalist declines, spot is offered to team that lost to the champ in the semifinal, and so on down the line. - It gets more complicated if the champion is also a regional league champion and if the finalist spot has been awarded to the state as a wildcard .
OYSA had to accept or decline regional spots months ago. If no one wanted to go, then OYSA would forfeit entry fees and likely pass the bill onto the clubs.
Much easier when deciding to travel to Idaho instead of Hawaii. -
