Soccer Chance Academy will not be associate in any OYSA League. Looks like they will be doing private training for kids this coming year. The market is saturated. We do not need anymore wannabe clubs in PDX Metro.

Have to agree the market is somewhat saturated. Issue lies in whether it's saturated in quality which I suspect is not the case. Perhaps more quality control is the answer. Not sure the OYSA has the reach or knowledge to achieve this however. Difficult to police.

Trust me the most difficult thing is to watch this putrid animal that festers and grows in Portlandia not to mention the enjoyment had observing the characters who claim they are paid 'coaches'.

SCA will be participating in OYSA through a partner club this coming year. Tryouts are next week.

If these guys provide good coaching and brand of soccer I'm all for it. Some stale clubs out there right now. However proof will be as always in the pudding !

Not according to OYSA. A for profit club cannot partner to a non profit club. Or the the non profit loses its status and a result its membership in OYSA.

What I dont understand is why people would pay the money a 1st year club is asking for. 1400 for U6-U8 and 1900 for U9-U14. Thats more than most established clubs.

I think this goes back to a post from above. Are the current established clubs providing a good service? If they are then nothing to fear from a new club. If your doing a good job then your players/parents won't look elsewhere. I'm happy with our current (smaller) club for example so won't be looking elsewhere this year.

Had this issue in Florida with the league who tried to stop a club partnering with a non profit for league entry. Turned out there was no legal bounds preventing this when reviewed by clubs lawyers. Was kind of crazy to sit back and watch have to say.

Does anyone know which club this SCA is leaching off of?

Hollywood didn't work - IFC is usually the last stop.

Not sure. I heard it was going to be a training centre only. Only heard positive reports so far on coaching ?

                                This is good

I think this could be a game changer. A pure training program in conjunction with your club...
