The more shady stuff I hear each day about these guys the more I think the OP had it right.

SCA = GPS 2.0

Here are the tells:

1. Latest/coolest gear/tracksuit
2. Boastful of exaggerated connections to next level
3. Shows 1-3 players “they have developed”
4. Don’t want any outside influence on the players (ODP, camps, other clubs, DA coaches, etc)
5. Exaggerated playing background
6. Uses latest buzzwords
7. Always recruiting talent to win games
8. Points towards wins and trophies as signs of development
9. Lacks respect from other coaches
10. Claims the naysayers are “jealous”
11. Claims any License they don’t have is useless
12. Falsified education background, often times never completed college
13. Plagiarism
14. Offers already committed players spots

If you see a few of these, RUN!

Generally, reputable coaches don't go bashing each other on the Internet, and pretty much focus on their own clubs, teams, and kids. The SCA guys may or may not be legit, but I'd bet a beer that many of the critics here are established grifters at established clubs, who have radars finely tuned to detect any threat to "their" players.

After all, one of the biggest grifters in OYSA is someone who recently acquired a club that was famously looted by GPS 1.0, and understands the hustle and game all too well, and who considers essentially the united whole of PDX to be his club's turf....

United is doing well and recruiting at a whole other level than SCA. They are not worried. They have state and regional ODP coaches poaching kids left and right. They have more catch phrases and propaganda than either version of GPS combines. They win when they recruit, lose when they build. They never miss a chance to announce on social media the name and age group of a club that they might beat. The one piece they're missing to complete their club is to bring MJ back. There would be no stopping this group at that point!

So my kid can play for UPDX, train with SCA and play friendlies and use GPS for college placement? Or is the college placement included when my kid plays SCA? When my kid makes a college team who gets all the credit on their social media?
