I am not dumb. I do dumb things occasionally, like get on this message board. But that's more of my morbid fascination with soccer parents trying to knock everything down to justify their own choices.

Most local tournaments are fundraisers for the hosting club. Clubs playing in each other's tourneys is a great way to hide the cost of club soccer from parents--e.g. Westside plays in Clash, and WashT in Beaverton Cup, and both sets of parents pay a fee to the other club, not included in their own club's dues, but instead collected as a "team payment". And the Nike clubs have a similar circle jerk going as well.

I have to admit I was a bit surprised how many people showed up - SRO. My take was one of two things: a lot of folks disgruntled with THUSC and how their members subsidize CU ECNL or a lot of folks following those coaches because it is a who’s who

They are set up as a not for profit, they should be able register themselves? Why would OYSA prohibit them from joining?

So who has followed RH off to bridge city? Sounds like it's the B team families at THUSC, whose DD's can't get on CU, figuring out that while they pay the same fees, the A team gets more goodies? Most clubs operate that way--those that don't have B or C teams tend to be expensive (ADF).

That said--if the club can't register with OYSA, that kinda screws with their business model.

This are just angry rumors. THUSC does not subsidize CU. People should ask the THUSC board if they have questions.

THUSC does not subsidize CU AT ALL. CU players pay dues and fees just like every club out there. THUSC families, please know your club fees do not go to CU. That's just a nasty rumor and not at all true.
