I think they should have one big double elimination tournament with the top 30 clubs from each league. A huge brawl. The league that performs the best, stays. The other closes up shop and donates their pennies and soccer balls to goodwill. Winner stays.

Runour is ECNL will announce high school
Graduation year teams for next year so all the 8th and 9th graders and all the juniors and seniors can have their own full teams. Sophomores too of course! Yay for the players and college recruiting and simply having teams to play on. This best option for players will become the strongest very quickly.

ECNL = college track
OYSA travel team = college track
Thorns = pro track
Trying to bash thorns for not getting college placements is ridiculous. They aren't in this for that. The goal is to get girls on the bench for the big girl team. And possible get a paycheck.

If that's what the goal is for those girls in GDA, their parents are doing a piss poor job in giving them guidance.

That such an exemption might be granted in this case is probably more damning to Jesuit U. than it is to the Thorns.
OSAA should just boot them out and be done with it. Kids who attend private school should either compete in a separate league for private schools, or play for the public school whose attendance area they live in (the same way magnet schools are often treated for sports). After all, the parents pay taxes to the public school district regardless, so the kids ought to have the right to play sports there, even if they go elsewhere for education (or are home schooled).
