The irony is that by having two ECNL clubs, one GDA club, and some higher level OYSA teams like Vancouver 02's, CFC 01's, and GPS 03's, the groundwork is in place for Oregon to provide this same level of pressure on clubs, albeit on a smaller scale. Parents DO have the ability to find another high level soccer experience if they aren't happy with things at the current club.
The problem in Oregon is that instead of we consumers seeing this competition as a positive way to hold everyone's feet to the fire and get a better product, we allow our own insecurities to compel us to tear down the other products in rabid and irrational defense of the path our own kid is on. All because we are deep down afraid that we made the wrong decision. Man we are messed up.

As opposed to Oregon where Thorns GDA is the only game in town (the only game for hundreds of miles if the game is GDA), and can set and break whatever confusing, weird, and arbitrary rules they want.
