Collegiate women's soccer is so diluted due to title ix they simply don't have the supply of d1 quality participants to match the demand needed to create 350 decent d1 teams. You have so many bottom level d1 teams that would struggle against most decent hs teams in the states. Not throwing shade just pointing out the unintended consequences of title ix implementation which gave birth to the cycle of madness know as girls travel soccer for scholarship dollars and watching the girls devolve from competitive beasts to travel flakes all on the parents stupid dime.

    Love it.
So your against giving girls the same amount of scholarships as boys at public universities that are subsidized by our states? Is this a fight you would want? What kind of a man says boys deserve more opportunities then girls? Suggestion, find another sport for you young chap like rowing, lacrose, baseball or whatever else young fellas like your son can still compete. Even the mascots get full rides and they are predominantly male.

What kind of fool couldn't figure out girls d1 soccer provides (via title ix interprets) nearly double the opportunity to play d1 college soccer, than it does for boys. Nobody said boys deserve more opportunities than girls, it's a documented fact they don't deserve even half what girls get.

Welfare handouts aren't considered earned income you idiot.

I'm against using the term d1 for all 350 girls soccer teams, especially when the boys side has 150 fewer d1 programs. How about call those below 200 rpi just 'the bottom 150'? with the understanding These girls teams are hoping to someday crack the top 200 and become a bonafide d1.

This sea of crap is yet another unintended consequence of title ix 'compliance' watering down a low participation sport with more d1 schools than the 'supply' of d1 athletes available.

This is why bench club players can go and be on teams at di schools that field women's soccer, the net is so big to catch these minnows it's hilarious.

Put all these realities together and you understand why a 'travel league' for girls has takers travelling to get the 'free lunch'. Purely comically.

They don't realize the 'free lunch' can be delivered to their front porch without even leaving their neighborhood.

That's the secret sauce you weren't educated about before you flew all over the country.

      Sucker.

Instead on serious note parents please invest $150 bucks and get a "23 and Me" DNA kit and you will see your kids path.

Regardless of league or club choice.

        Much simpler accurate and cheaper.

Jesuit high school is a joke. They wouldnt even do well in community college.

Any random club team at the Hs age would embarrass Jesuit.

Oregon soccer might be generally mediocre but it doesn’t change the fact that Oregon high school players got the best college commitments to play women’s soccer - over the players who chose not to play HS soccer.

Honestly, I think our local Community College (Clark) probably plays better soccer and could beat them....but....Arizona is waaaaaay better weather in the winter.
This is soooo true. This is the level of player that comes out of PDX Metro

Besides you copying and pasting the cc league team list you brought about the point that the da actually hasn’t produced any top players and some can’t even make it into these colleges

Glad you recognized they were community colleges, just so you know they all play in the NWAC. This college List of Oregon HS commits are posted on Oregon Live site, that's where you find the best are headed. Don't know if they got any athletic aid, but who cares right!

Does NWAC have boys soccer?, or is this another example for you of lost opportunity for 5,8 kinda athletic spoiled white boyz.

                        NWAC Defense

First, yes the NWAC has boy soccer. The quality is very good, many top D1 players D2 and NAIA go to a JUCO first. The cost is very affordable, scholarships available in plenty, and you can get a first rate education.

I have seen many ENCL players and Thorns struggle in the NWAC top teams. Like all women's college leagues the incredible number of team means all leagues are watered downed, especially the bottom half of the leagues. NWAC is more like 3/4 of the team are not great, but the top teams are very good.

Limiting a recruiting list to only JCs is silly when girls from teams playing in OYSA and ECNL have been recruited to Oregon, Oregon State, UoP, Gonzaga, USC, Colorado, Norte Dame, and on down the line to GCU and then hundreds of other D2, D3 & NAIA colleges. In Oregon, it doesn’t matter much whether a girl plays in OYSA or ECNL or GDA. The results are largely the exact same.

This is a small no name Div 1 school like a hundred others in the country. Most of the players that decide to go to small Div 1 schools like this one go because of the sensation of playing Div 1 soccer when it’s really not.

The parents and the child should always visit and watch a few training sessions and a game. My suggestion is for families to do some research and pick a game that they might lose....this way you get to watch the coach perform under real pressures of the game. Every coach will show their true colors under the gun.

                            Second....
Why are there coaches coaching like this still? Is it 1987? This is one of the main reason why this country doesn’t advance in the game. There are thousands of these coaches in our country teaching kids. If any of you want to watch a few of them go to your local high school programs and watch these coaches hammer the fitness for the first month of training with players that have been playing for 8 months and are pretty fit.
The reason why these coaches coach this way is because they are lost and have no clue how to teach.

Why does it seems to be players with basically nothing to lose , for most of them they will be done with soccer. Why wait till now to come up with this stuff . Are the other current underclass players just afraid of the out come .

Ok so I am going to explain it to you even though I am hoping this was some rhetorical nonsense that you posted just to be an ass.

In order to have the confidence to "step up" without fear of losing their tuition compensation, playing time or general role with the team it would seem fairly obvious why these allegations are surfacing now. Most of the complainants are now at the finish line or have already finished their collegiate playing careers so they are no longer a slave to the game and are now feel empowered and emboldened to speak up. It's important they bring this type of behavior to light so that their future teammates or new student athletes at GCU can avoid the same.

This is the same reason you won't find many, if any, existing players who will do the same. There is simply too much on the line for them to join in the fight. Additionally, the coaches are now on their best behavior giving the microscope they are now under and I am sure they are probably being overly nice to their existing team to avoid being fired or mass transfers.
