Wow is that a lot of walk-ons. Women’s soccer only has a total of 14 scholarships that have to be sliced up for the entire roster. When you bring in a class of 12 you can guarantee that most aren’t getting any money maybe books

I see lots of transfers. One on her 3rd college. I'm not sure I'd define that as "great."

Some of the girls of the prior regime probably left when the coach that recruited them was fired.

            Others may have been cut.

Happens all the time in college (and pro) sports. You have to earn your spot each year, and if you play poorly enough that your coach gets fired, don't be surprised to find yourself waiting tables the next year to pay tuition.

Time will tell but it looks pretty good to me. I think they’ll be much improved.

Have to be better because last season they looked like Thailand. I think OSU set a record for most GA last season

New season is here. Interesting to see how it all works out. Hoping our Oregon pac 12 and all our other teams can keep doing better every year!

I meant lots of transfers from other programs into OSU. To me that's a bit of a red flag - kids who are hopping from school to school (especially the one on her third school). But that may be all he could get given how late he was hired.

it's the current trend, and it's been a long time coming. for decades coach's could leave in the middle of the night with no recourse. job hopping all around the country. players stuck at their schools due to the awful ncaa rules. the rules have changed, finally.....

Think we’ll see a lot more transfers across the board due to the new rules?

I think it's inevitable and probably happening already in big numbers compared to previous years. It's happening in mass within ncaa football and basketball. We likely hear about it more because of those sports being so popular.

Still, to me, a kid picking one school, transferring after a year, picking another school, transferring after a year, then picking a third school - to me that's a concern. Either player isn't doing her homework, player has unrealistic expectations, or player has incredibly bad luck.

Or maybe just moving on to a better situation. D1 soccer is a job. If someone offers you a better position and/or higher pay, why wouldn’t you go?
