    US Youht

ECNL brought in some good team from US Youth, Seattle United and Pacfici NW. I think the biggest issue with that is the Oregon teams look like the door mats again, now that their is more than four teams.

If you can afford ECNL at about $6k per year it’s much better.
Where do your register or pay for the ‘ECNL’ you refer to? Our club played in the US Club girls league called ECNL, but we registered directly with our local neighborhood club instead of coating 6k like you mention it cost us 12k for the year. Is their a Groupon called ‘ECNL’ to get the 6k discounted cost. Please advise and send link to coupon. 50% is huge!

Thorns is cheaper and they have a Playing Time Guarantee. So if you are struggling to get starts on the JV team this might be a good fit. Give them a call.

Hopefully the league gains some better squads this year, last year we played quite a few club B teams. It felt like staying locally to play would of madw more sense. The Thorns DA have already grabbed our club top players, so we will give this one more shot and maybe get an invite to the DA. If the league allows us play other A teams this year, that would be great.
          Thanks Timber/Thorns intern ...

ECNL is a much better option but thorns ok if on a tight budget.

Unfortunately, the BEST players don't always win "player of the year"----you do understand that all star teams are completely political, right? Coach A says "if you vote for my defender and my GK, I will vote for your forward and your right MF"----and Coach B says "okay, deal--I will vote for your 2 players if you also add my left back"----totally politically motivated and sadly, sometimes the BEST player of the year candidate isn't always the best player. Also, realize that some of these coaches just DO NOT like each other. They carry grudges, they coach against each other during club play and some feel others are donkeys......all comes down to ego and power. The girls lose out due to someone carrying a grudge against someone else. The Mountainside player is good. Is she the best player in the league good? I know of at least 2 players from Jesuit that are JUST as good, if not better.....maybe the coaches threw Mountainside a bone this year for a vote/favor down the road?? Who knows.....

Who gets the pleasure of losing in the finals to Jesuit?

If it is not then you should really not pay for ECNL if you are not good enough to make the Thorn's DA team

NWSL Thorns is cheaper but you get what you pay for. Lots of better options out there.

                        3-0 is more like it.

The NWSL Thorns Academy is the only local option that is cheaper than ECNL but also lower in quality. You have to make trade offs. If you can afford ECNL it is a great option.

That seems a little high. Did your $12K include parent travel?

Not sure what the point is in playing stupid and not understand what 'ECNL' refers to, but maybe you are really that stupid.

We have 2 clubs in Oregon that play in the ECNL league.

Their club training fees are fairly comparable and since they are travel partners, the travel fees are also fairly comparable.

Some people choose to group the cost as 'ECNL' to give readers a rough estimate of cost.

There is a range on 'ECNL' cost it is dependent on the age group that you play in and the number of showcases your team attends.

Some people add in parent travel and some don't. Just be consistent if you are making a comparison.

$12K is on the high side if you are not including parent travel.

At $4,000.00 per year Thirns is pretty cheap. Quality is not as good but it’s cheaper.
