Sorry CU hater. Why would anyone want to play weak Ecnl teams? Just look at what Eastside Oregon did to crossfire wa Ecnl? And CU Ecnl last year?
That tournament is for Ecnl teams to get beat by USYS teams.

Scores are starting to roll in for the "olders" tournament (U15 and higher). U14 and younger teams are next weekend.
Davis Legacy 04 Red 3, Crossfire Oregon 04 0
CU ECNL 02 3, Spokane Sounders 2

Why no Thorns teams at Surf?
I’m sure I won’t get a straight answer but I think it’s odd that the older Thorns teams don’t do Surf. It’s a great opportunity for college exposure and you know the coaches from better schools will be hitting up the academy bracket games first. It’s great competition. And the Thorns families are getting so much soccer for free it’s hard to understand why they wouldn’t pay for this one tournament. If Surf is good enough for the many other academy teams doing it, it’s good enough for Thorns.

CU ECNL G00/01 3, ISC Gunner 1
CU ECNL 04 2, Georgia Rush 1
CU ECNL 03 2, Leah United 2
WashT 02G Reds 6, Real So Cal 0
Altogether, Oregon (and SoWA) teams go 5-1-1 on opening day. The most surprising result is that the CU 03s--by reputation the strongest of the local sides--only managed a point, whereas all the other CU teams in San Diego all took three points on the first day, all but the 00/01 team competing in SuperBlack.
Still, five wins out of seven games is good work, and the one loss was by a single goal. Good showing, all!
