Dragon Slayers

This thread started before tryouts when the ENCL and GDA where scared they would loose players to other or not have enough players.

ENCL tired to frame the name change of Eastside Thorns as Eastside was taking over the GDA which they are not, they are just branding the girls the Thorns in alignment with the Boys being the Timbers.

I have sat here for years reading this stuff wondering how in the world these clubs convince otherwise intelligent people to spend upwards of 4,000 to 8,000 on youth soccer, but this thread answers that question.

It’s confusing. Eastside Thorns and now Westside thorns academy. Then the other TA girls clubs are still directly affiliated with the Portland Timbers. TA clubs avoiding Thorns?

You are right it is confusing. I liked the good old days, Eastside, Westside, FC, SouthSide and we all played in the same league.

Now it is Timbers, Thorns, Cross Fire. ECNL, DA, OYSA, US Club
