So they just changed their names to the Eastside Thorns because they like the sound of it? And the Academy will now practice at completely different locations? Yup, nothing to do with the academy. Smart money says the actual GDA license now resides under the Eastside Thorns!!!

I didn't believe it but Eastside announced it right on their website. Plus they have a big sign at their new training facility.

Awesome! I’m guessing Westside will rebrand as Thorns also. Neither are Development Academy, however. But it’s cool the girls are Thorns just like all the boys are Timbers.

Well now the same goes for the girls teams, named Thorns. Man the turnout at ecnl tryouts must be bleak for you to be flipping out like this.

So? They renamed their own club's girls program. LOL. Sounds like THUSC and Crossfire
re-branding themselves. Or other clubs re-branding as TA affiliates. It's a name thing.

50% more than last year and twice what a good old OYSA team will cost.

I thought GDA was going to try to end pay-to-play?

By the way, doesn't mean GDA might not have a role in this state . . . just this a far cry from the promises of a year ago.
