Take a hard look, CU won at U14, U15 and U17. Nothing delusional about those results!!!
That was before all the good players left Ecnl.

Didn't you ever wonder why the best teams went to dead last and the last place teams...you. Went to first in every age group???

That's because the league is pretty awful and top players went to GDA or other leagues.

You need to talk to smarter people..

The dropoff doesn't get any steeper than this my friend. NWSL Thorns Academy selections do 'give up' HS Soccer but they don't give up all their college savings, this trade off is not even a discussion. Als, if you're playing in a league that has one of our neighborhood clubs as the top of table you are back playing in the OPL. So be it. Enjoy the costs of stupidity.
This is moronic and factually inaccurate. Neither ECNL clubs is a neighborhood club in the way we generally think of them, and the only thing the Thorns have to do with the academy is the name and logo. That's it. Stupidity is pretending your DD is part of the same organization as Tobin Heath and Christine Sinclair and listening to Mike Smith and Gavin.

All but four of the current XF Premier U15 GDA will play in the upcoming U16 ECNL season. Enjoy your success this season. Next season is gonna be rough.

There is so much talk about other good teams but none of it means anything to the crap Ecnl teams in Oregon. They aren't even the best teams from
          Oregon.

To summarize, Thorns led the pack - at 17k average attendance. Not 20k. Still quite good, but you lied.

Second place was Orlando - at 6k. Talk about a steep drop off.

Average attendance for the 10 teams in the league was 5083 in 2017. So again, you lied.

And just because math is fun, let's figure out what the average attendance would have been without the outlier Thorns included - that number is 3,686 per game.

I am a supporter of NWSL and would love to see them succeed. Wasting money on the academy teams, giving scholarships to parents driving Range Rovers, doesn't meet any of the stated goals of the GDA program. It also bleeds money away from the NWSL teams and US Soccer. Our professional women and national teams deserve better pay. Our best players are flooding overseas, not because the competition is better, but because they can actually make a living wage over there. The best players leaving makes the product on the field less exciting and will hurt attendance even more. If you think any for profit investor will continue to bleed money into a team averaging 5000 or less in attendance, you are delusional.
Orlando Pride dropped out of GDA. Other than Portland, supporting girls academies is tough when you can only pay your senior women’s team 15k/year. Most GDA programs aren’t subsidized and cost as much or more than ECNL. We are lucky in Portland to have such strong interest & support for women’s soccer. Sadly, our state can’t support an entire league. We are also lucky that PacNW & Seattle United both joined Ecnl and will make our division stronger and lower travel expenses.

THUSC (CU) & FC Portland have been and will always be recognized as neighborhood clubs.
It is, what it is...Stupidity is convincing yourself they are not.

We are not part of the Thorns DA, like 99% of the girls who play at neighborhood clubs yours and ours, my dd is simply not good enough yet. But we love what they offer to the BEST!

Guess you didn't see the 3 Pac-12 scouts at the ECNL games last weekend. I noticed a University of Arizona cap and jersey on one of the scouts. The U of W scout was in the 'remote' neighborhood. A USWNT scout was there as well. So suck on that 'genius' and check the ECNL Div 1 stats! You will want to lick your ... after seeing those!

Well over the course of 9 mos we didn't see even one D1 coach at Liberty HS or Champions park. That includes the club team staff, we moved on to the Academy. Like many others who had enough BS from the neighborhood club, all the best! A hat. errr..scout.

The new WA club members haven't joined the Pacific Division yet, are you having hallucinations again? Sorry.

Is this why the 2 local coaches and a Wildcats baseball cap were seen this weekend?

Alliance parent here and this argument is so stupid. All I need to do is look at the 01/02 commits of CU versus Thorns. CU has most of their u17 team committed to D1 schools, about half of their 02 team committed to D1 schools, and at least one 03. This is factual information easily found by viewing their social media posts.

In comparison I only know of one player on the Thorns 01/02 team committed to a D1 school and she could have earned that offer staying with CFC. Not sure how the older team is doing as for some reason thorns chooses not to share their commits (draw your own conclusions). But I do know one older Eugene girl committed to UO (her former Eugene club coach is married to the Oregon coach so I’m not sure Thorns had much to do with that); and one player on the older team committed to George fox. That difference is pretty striking to me.
