This weekend's debacle was on the players. Giving up 3 goals in ten minutes is a failure of execution not strategy.
Otoh, his tenure so far has been inauspicious.

Players are terrible. Timbers are too cheap to pay for good players. Too busy raking in huge cash from youth soccer to worry about the first team.

I got news for you.Top Players dont want to move to Portland. Paulson should be spending more money on the academy. He has a better chance of having players come thru the system and being linked to the community and be better pro's then what he can go get from South America if he would actually care about the Academy

MLS it is all preseason for the first 34 games; they get a home win streak and everything will be forgiven.
MLS fans are easy to keep happy.

If there is a legitimate criticism of the Timbers and their involvement in youth soccer is that they don't take their academy seriously enough--Portland has a bigger population than Salt Lake City, so the Timbers should be able to have an academy program at least as good as RSL's. But they don't.
Savarese hasn't impressed much, but it's not like he's keeping Sergio Ramos chained to the bench. The team has some serious holes on their back line. Farfan gets roasted by pretty much anyone, but he's young and has an excuse--he might be decent in a year or two. Powell and company have no such excuse.

As for the rest of this - all fair enough, but really hard to give a rat's ass about the Timbers first team anymore.

Timbers will be cleaning house.
They need to start at the top first
GW needs to move on. He’s done a great job keeping PTFC in the black.
I’m afraid because of that you will not see GW go.
You will see most of the Academy staff let go though soon. It’s coming. LS’s days are numbered. LS was set up to fail. He can’t do his job with the system and staff he was given
