And judging by their results in nationals and their recruits so far, I think that was a smart call for them. In fairness it should be noted that they’ve certainly not saved any money avoiding ECNL and GDA. It always costs a lot of cash to be on a successful traveling team. Unless you are a Thorns soccer subsidy recipient like our GDA girls.
They pay in damaged confidence and self esteem after flying to Florida and getting 0-11 minutes of playing time.
They pay in lowered GPA’s and decreased academic opportunities from missing so much school to travel.
They pay in decreased family time.
They pay in decreased happiness from missing so many things that make high school fun (other sports, extracurricular activities, free time with friends).
They pay in decreased joy and burnout for a game that becomes a full time job when they are as young as 12-13 years old.
But hey...their parents are saving a few thousand bucks a year. And get to brag about Tobin Heath being at practice now and then. Surely a little decreased happiness and self esteem is worth it.

Top 10 rcl teams in wa are much better than anything inn Oregon
Top 3-4 rcl teams are better than the watered down Ecnl scam and clubs like Spokane and PAC NW are clearly better than Washington Ecnl teams.

They also would finish behind both GDAs and the ECNL team in Washington...probably 4th best team in Washington.
All in all....this probably puts them about 7th or 8th in the Pacific NW behind also FC Nova.
....not bad.

Do they have to pay a fee to get their photo taken with Tobin Heath or is it included in all the fees they already collect from parents.
