Yeah the Big Kahuna was too busy writing condescending notes to the parents about how we are all sheep following the hyper sensitive news media. And how HE was an expert on air quality and thinks everything will be just fine. Not that we can't just go outside and see for ourselves. And oh yeah we need to stop bothering him.

Funny how his note was removed and replaced with one from a person who realizes WE are the customer.

I also thought his email was rude. I couldn't beleieve what I was reading. "I know the air quality is classified as "unhealthy", but my assumption is that all 6000 kids coming to this tournament are athletes that can handle it." SMH.

Take it however you want. If you don't want your kid to play, don't let them play. Not a problem for anyone else but you and your kid.

Agree. Teach your kids to think for themselves. Don't blame others for a decision that is up to you. No one is forcing any of these kids to play in heat & low quality air. Same goes for most other complaints on TS. If you don't want your kid to pay to travel to play better outside competition, don't sign up for ECNL. If you don't want to practice more & skip high school ball to play out of state teams, don't sign up for GDA. If you think OYSA is too watered down, don't sign up. If one year's choice doesn't pan out, try out somewhere else. It's all up to you and your kid.

Faulty assumption. There are many kids playing in his low level tournament who are not what I would call "athletes." What an ass.

Looking at the teams participating, I would say that NONE would not be classified as "athletes". Unless bootball thugball is now an athletic endeavor.

"Bootball thugball" is usually considered an over-emphasis on athleticism over skill. And your double-negative kind of ruins your point.

Oregon has many different choices for soccer. OYSA, GDA, ECNL, GPS, DA, AYSO, Schools, other Rec leagues. No one will ever be 100% happy but there are at least many choices available. As far as Mt Hood, many more would've been upset if it had been cancelled. Not an ideal situation but this way, each individual can decide wether they'd like to play or not.

DA is a joke. Clubs are losing their identity and only being referred to as the acronym for what league they play in. It's hilarious. Any two bit coach can put together a schedule but perhaps when someone does it for you then you are their bitch
