I'm contemplating having my daughter attend GDA tryouts. So, I am trying to find out some answers that seem difficult to locate.
NW GDA league appears to be made up of teams from not only Portland, but Redmond WA, Seattle WA, Issaquah WA, Burlingame CA, Sacramento CA,, Campbell CA, Kaysville UT, Moraga CA, and San Jose CA. So any and all away games will either Seattle, or in Northern CA and/or UT. Then showcase tournament(s)?
Are the Timbers/Thorns going to subsidize the travel costs for their teams? Are accommodations going to have to be compromised? What will be the means of travel? IF my daughter attends, is offered a spot and accepts (yes, she has to earn it first), will she be riding 10-12 hours in a van/bus to get to away contests?
Where and when can I get these answers? I can't seem to locate them on the Thorn website. Is it in writing somewhere? I know my daughter is excited by the thought of being near Thorns players, and the possibility of wearing the same patch on her jersey, but what are the realities of how this is really going to play out?
