    A match I'd like to see: FCP U17B v TA U18B

Now that would be a match worth watching. It would also be a good measuring stick to see if the TA is "all that" or isn't.

Hi, I saw the 2nd half of FC U17B, semi final game with Thelo. Obviously the game was out of gand at that point, vut that team looked amazing. They had some serious talent. My Son and I witnessed 6 goals of every possible creation.

That's why DA teams aren't allowed to play non-DA teams. Show them up & people would see that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes.

Yeah, that's it. MLS DA teams have their hands full competing with the best of best in the country. Playing the local rec clubs isn't part of the program, rec teams love their rec players. Pro clubs are committed to making Pro players, not fulfilling rec parents daydreams. You can always buy a ticket to a timbers/thorns game if you want to see some of their homegrowns play, wait you can't there sold out with a waiting list in the tens of thousands. You can listen or Radio or TV or ride the max loop downtown and steal a peek.

The Portland emperor actually rules all of us peasants.

Wouldn't it be fun though? The FCP "Rec" team is every bit as talented as the TA team and better coached.

You wrote TA do you mean DA? Are you referring to TA Timbers Alliance or DA Development Academy. If you are referring to the DA you are absolutely nuts. Go ask your coach what would happen.

I can tell you this much....that fc team is extremely talented, and plays very well. I can guarantee that the game would be a lot closer than any of you DA Honks may think. Talent and athleticism doesn't care what badge is on your jersey. Make it happen FC!

Did they really roll through State Cup scoring 45 goals and allowing none over 5 games?

Finally some empirical data to chew on!!

This particular outcome can happen (blowout wins in league & state cup at the older ages) for any organized local club group, if you factor in our local MLS Club snatching up all the best youth talent boys across all ages in Oregon for their DA program. The annual DA selection process strips relevant clubs of their top players now as young as the 5th grade and as old a HS seniors. Since the Timbers DA have been evolving over the last 5 years, they still haven't figured out how to identify the type of talent that can stick in their DA program and realize the stated goal of developing Homegrown players for their 1st team. As a result each year since 2012 they spit out upwards of 10 to 15 players back into the club and HS level as DA cuts.

But, all is not lost! If you have been cut loose by the DA, guess what you don't have to return to your origin club anymore and if like this group of 00's did agree to play under the OYSA club 'x' team banner for a year or two you will indeed destroy all the other decimated oysa talent starved teams. It works this case is evidence of that, is it good for Oregon Youth Club Soccer? That's up for debate.

Timbers DA gets a win and can cut loose kids year after year and search out for better players, the lone OYSA club with the best of the rest can hammer the classic level teams in their age group. OYSA state cup has lost all of it's integrity as a competition and you can post on a forum your team scored 45 goals and gave up zero.

On the other end of the spectrum when dilution is the norm amongst an age you will see teams like Newberg and Corvallis advancing to the semis and final at U18 boys. Like they did this year.

                              What are your thoughts?
