    Ecnl to thorns lying logic

I think it's hilarious that the discredited used car sales coaches and parents of Ecnl in Oregon are trying to use the same logic against the thorns.

It's also equally hilarious that the thorns coaches and parents are trying to sell something they have no idea what it is or certainly haven't established it will be good. All of a sudden they think they now are the best while it's been crap in the past.

Ecnl meant you played in a league. Nothing else. But Ecnl parents got fooled thinking their coaching, recruitment, development, wins, and status was going to suddenly be like the top club who was always doing it. That failed.

Thorns are playing in a starter league for girls and for some reason that means they are suddenly something? They are no a pathway to the pros??? what in the lying hell are you doing? Thorns intent creating a pro player from their academy is about as lying as Oregon Ecnl parents saying they are elite while they can't even win a single game.

    Oregon isn't Washington or California.

Thorns better be careful. Watch and see fc Portland and THUSC along with former alliance clubs start to compete against them. It wouldn't be hard to starve them out of a player base if they all tried. The arrogance and ignorance from the thorns is showing.

Count all the national team players, international players, and college all Americans and the thorns haven't had a single one. The boys side they helped shape 1-2 but it was all westsides development.

Now the thorns think they are going to step in? What a joke. I can tell you right now there is a growing under current and with Oregon not being very big, the thorns could easily be put in jeopardy if the clubs decide to push back.

Ecnl clubs lost their integrity so no one trusts them but they still have pull and player bases.

The boys DA is 7 years old, just starting to see the true product of players coming up through the Timbers system, and starts with Marco. That's a success.

On the girls side, yes the Thorns DA is in its infancy. This is a US Soccer sanctioned league, so you know where the US soccer scouts will be. College scouts will have to split their time for a season or two, but the writing is on the wall that as the GDA program grows nationally, ECNL will fade away. Just as the FC boys DA did when Timbers went MLS.

Let's call a spade a spade. What the staff at ECNL clubs are really thinking about is their paychecks. They e been so nasty publicly toward the Timbers/Thorns they don't have much chance of getting hired there, so when ECNL fades away so does their income.

As for the parents, if your kid is good enough to play in college, they will play in college. What makes the GDA different is the direct line to the national team and the women's league. Both parties are invested, and as the women's pool has fallen behind globally the past 5-10 years, this is US soccer's plan to turn that around. You will see a lot of talented young women start to show up for tryouts who would've never set foot on an ECNL field because their families couldn't write a check.

Again. Another thorns idiot coach. You know where the scouts will be? Hahahah I've heard that line before regarding odp.

They will go everywhere to find the best players. You have no idea what will happen and you sound like a desperate idiot trying to sell something you have no clue how it will go. Judging from history, it will be for show and no substance

Wrong. I'm a parent who has raised 4 children, all having played different levels of soccer. I have t coached in 10 years. The youngest is 12 and prefers to keep it light with rec and that's OK by me. Oldest daughter played 2 years at UO before deciding it wasn't for her. We've done RTC, ODP, regional camps, club soccer, boys academy Timbers, girls ECNL, you name it.

The game is always VHS going at with it come change fearing lunatics like you.

So essentially you were a club hopper that ended up trucking your kid around.

You believe everything you heard so why listen to you?

Just like old odp in Oregon didn't yield national team players, neither will GDA. Yes, SoCal girls that were already going to make national team rosters will continue on. We have a nationally elite female player from Oregon once every 20-30 years or so. Having GDA won't change that. Sure, they'll throw a couple national camp spots Oregon's way every year just like ODP does but that's merely to keep the dream alive in our state. We just don't have that level of elite players. I'm not against Gda or Ecnl or GPS or Timbers Alliance. Just surprised parents really think any of those elite paths mean your player that was destined for PSU or Concordia or wherever, is suddenly going to UCLA or Notre Dame or UNC or wherever. Do whichever path your dd likes but quit arguing over which path is more elite. Girls can get to their same level
of college doing any of the paths. Who cares which path if it's the one the girl likes?

I have 4 kids, each with a separate path in the game and I supported what was best for them. Just because my oldest son did Timbers DA did t mean my daughter should pass up on her dreams of ECNL in Seattle, which she did forc2 years thanks to the help of a carpool. I didn't force them to play anywhere or "club hop" as you call it.

You're clearly a negative person with an agenda and are unable to look at this objectively.

The Timbers DA deserve as much credit for developing Marco to an MLS level player as ECNL for Christen Press.

Do you not think that Marco was a good player prior to making the Academy U16 team?

His family and Eastside deserve most of the credit. Timbers got to enjoy the last 3 years.

Timbers tried getting credit for Rubio as well.
