So players 15-32 are screwed. No play time. No HS soccer. Four practices per week. 2000 paid though helps out the top 14 with coaching and travel expenses. Maybe only the 24 pool players have to pay the 2000?

I couldn't agree with you more, KL is demonstrative and constantly coaching the girls with high expectations and got good results from his pre-ecnl team. While he might scream a little much for my tastes, I haven't witnessed any incessant berating of players. My DD has enjoyed his coaching and has learned a lot. If you're competing against the best of the best then you better learn to bring it, and you shouldn't expect to be coddled.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostOf course no one has complained, because this entire story is BS. KL was so mean to the younger girls in pre-ECNL events last year that they all wanted to play for him. Now his 05 team is the best in OR and he's been very successful at setting up friendlies with many of the best ECNL programs to help OR girls learn early on what it takes to compete out of state. Hopefully you're just an OR mom who thinks everyone should get equal playing time and participation medals. Otherwise you're on a nasty smear campaign with your own agenda.

Sure, some top level players will choose to play high school rec soccer because it is easy and they have fun with their friends. That is their choice.
There are many very good players who think high school soccer is low level and counterproductive, but haven't had a choice to train and play with other higher level players in the Fall because everyone was stuck in the high school rec experience.
You should be happy, your daughter has more choices now whether she chooses to pursue them or not.

Being on a team one year does not guaranteed a spot on the team another, so yes if you don't cut the mustard you might get cut or placed on a lower team. Isn't that the purpose of tryouts, clubs and players only have to commit to one year at a time not their entire life.
