Odp started taking jerseys back from players a couple years ago. Is that also to give more money to Academy?

LOL-We had to turn in ODP jerseys and warm ups in early 2000s. There weren't any academies then, so your point is moot.

In fact, some of the other states' teams were given water bottles to keep. I remember asking a NorCal player if she had to turn in her uniform. She said they turned in the uniforms but they got to keep the soccer ball given to them!

They confiscate jerseys and shorts immediately after ODP events. Supposedly to save money but they also don't want kids wearing them to Taco Bell or the oaks park.

I still see little kids wearing them around.

Not part of this sting, but I read it. wasn't able to read any verbal attacks from the poster just a narrative about their life experience and the snowflake generation of children whose parents want them to buy a dress that can't be outclassed, even it's cheaper in price..

Seriously good for your club. Different clubs are going to look at the landscape and draw different conclusions on how to proceed. Some are going to do that in partnership with the Timbers; others are not; some are going to pick and choose how they partner with the Timbers.

Some clubs are going to reach different conclusions on the boys' side than the girls' side.

None of these are inherently right or wrong.

However, the Timbers communicated that all OYSA clubs support sending their best players to the Thorns Academy. They communicated that while administering the OYSA statewide league.

The Timbers/Thorns/ statement was false, pure and simple.

Please link where any OYSA member club has publicly said the do not support sending their 'best' players to tryout with the Timbers/Thorns DA Program.

These clubs cannot say i,t as the are part of the Oregon branch of the DA and US Soccer would remove them from the program if they didn't believe in this philosophy. of sending your best to tryout for the DA program, in Oregon we only have 1 program with the Timbers/Thorns.

Mandating 4 trainings a week. Negative.
Missing school for travel. Negative.
Forcing kids to give up their school life. Negative.
No high school sports. Negative.

USDA member clubs in Oregon signed the agreement from US Soccer, which mandates they promote their best players to the Timbers/Thorns DA program.
