With all of the bragging done on here about the ECNL teams, I thought I would take a look at their overall records as posted on the ECNL national website.

Crossfire United ECNL (U14 thru U18)
- 10 Wins
- 38 Losses
- 13 Ties


FC Portland ECNL (U14 thru U18)
- 22 Wins
- 26 Losses
- 17 Ties


What the hell is going on at Crossfire United? Out of 61 total games played by all of their teams they have managed to only win 10 total games. Seriously? 10 total games across 5 teams.

At least FC Portland can point to an almost .500 record of wins vs losses, but their record isn't particularly impressive either.

That all of you ECNL families are paying $8000 per year for this type of performance is quite a statement in mediocrity.

Well, at least your daughters get to play crappy high school soccer.

By that measure they are extraordinarily successful. Could they have sandbagged in OYSA like a certain so called elite team we know, and won more games? Sure. They just have different goals than the other club.

From all indications playing and paying for these clubs is hurting your choice of college, you could impove your academics. Hang up the cleats to avoid the beatdowns and ridicule and shift your focus on getting to the best college for you in the nation.

You fail to mention the most salient aspect, the parents do not pay for this kind of experience. Peregrine does.

On the other hand Crossfire & CU make them go through a similar ride put they make/force the parents to pay for every dime of the torture.

You go to the DA and you give up a great deal of future contractual freedom as well as HS soccer. For some that is worth it; but it also means the DA isn't free.

Don't confuse or attempt to correlate the ECNL as an entity it's not, it is simply a league made up of clubs and those power clubs in the league have always sent players to college for decades. Regardless of their choice of league. The only scientific correlation about this league is the US Soccer National program has been set back decades with the type of player and skill set the are byproducts of this league model. Because it is ostensibly a platform to parade the nation's tops club players in front of coaches (Oregon clubs are not considered amongst the nations' top, they are seated in storage) and are a non factor. No development, just a meat market for college coaches to view the top shelf.

Interestingly all Oregon clubs including CU and FC PDX have sent fewer girls to college with the inception of the OPL about 5 years ago. The trending for Oregon girls going to play in college has not improved as a whole. Which is the most telling sign.

It's not riddle at all, you are just twisted and shielded from the facts.

I don't know every ECNL player in the state. But every ECNL player I do know is an honor roll student. Meanwhile thorns academy players are missing another three days of school this week riding a bus to Canada for some more sandbag games. We are happy with our choice.

If all the Girls at CU and FC Portland are actually honor roll, that only reinforces the notion of dropping out of extensive travel club Soccer and become the school Valedictorians and SAT whizs that have time for community service. Your scholarships will increase 10 fold due to academics and you can choose whatever school you want to go, for example now you can actually get to where you belong Stanford. The best part of all of this is you get to play HS Soccer which had been such a draw for you all along.

That's the whole point if you're at a level were HS Soccer is meaningful and important, playing against the nation's top girls from across the country really isn't. So enjoy your HS Soccer and local club soccer for sure. But, spending 10K a year for Club Soccer experience in Oregon is criminal.

CU and FC Portland clubs have joined this league for 2 years. It's not gone well and the other clubs don't like to travel to Oregon to play the sisters of the poor. This isn't something new, Washington and Cali teams have always rightly believed it's a waste of their time and money to travel and play any club team in Oregon as it does them no benefit . Those states feel they are being held hostage to the ECNL league and have made a deal with the ECNL they will never come to Oregon, ECNL said no problem, just don't leave our league.

It's just the way it is.

Thanks that explains why the top club in the PNW Crossfire Premier is leaving for the GDA and the local Oregon Clubs were never invited to the GDA, appreciated.
