Everyone knows that you are girls clubs who don't develop players, you recruit them. Always have and, until the GDA announcement, figured you always would. The reason everyone is freaking out is because you know that you are not going to be able to recruit like you have.

Keep spinning your yarn about how you are being fleeced so the GDA can exist. The funny thing in all of this is you have been gladly fleecing yourselves all along. It really is funny watching you all fall apart at the seams over this.
Ooo. Someone's a little scared. GDA is ripping off just about every soccer player in Oregon. You should be graciously thanking everyone to fund your daughter in a pay to play system which is exactly what GDA has proven to be. Hilarious.

What if all those clubs pulled out? How would your daughter be funded to travel? She wouldn't be and then you'd have to foot the bill.

      1. Timbers are a pro soccer club for-profit. Not known for developing girls talent.
      2. High school sports are very important to girls.
      3. Excessive travel.
      4. Over training.
      5. Lack of community interest in your games.
      6. Can't participate in outside competition.
      7. No state cup.
      8. Missing out on youth experiences because you are training or traveling all the time.

      That's about it.

It's the "Thorns" Academy not the Timbers Academy. The Thorns have a solid collection of the very best women's players in the world. I think they have an idea of what it takes to become a top level female player.

In anwer to your other points:

        2. High school sports are very important to girls
TOO GENERALIZED OF A STATEMENT. MANY TOP GIRLS PLAYERS THINK HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER IS A JOKE. THEY JUST DON'T HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE DURING THOSE MONTHS IF THEY WANT TO PLAY

        3. Excessive travel
SHOW ME A SCHEDULE TO SUPPORT THIS

        4. Over training
CRAPPY HIGH SCHOOL TRAINS 4-5 DAYS EACH WEEK, OFTEN WITH NO CARE FOR THE PLAYERS LONG TERM HEALTH SINCE THE SEASON IS ONLY 3 MONTHS LONG.

        5. Lack of community interest in your games
SOME PLAYERS HAVE A BIGGER DREAM THAN PLAYING FOR THEIR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.

        6. Can't participate in outside competition
LIKE PLAYING FOR YOUR CLUB'S OYSA TEAM? THE REASON THEY LEFT IN THE FIRST PLACE IS THEY NO LONGER WANT TO PLAY FOR THE OYSA CLUB TEAM

        7. No state cup
THAT IS BECAUSE THE "STATE CUP" IS FOR TEAMS THAT PLAY ALL OF THEIR LEAGUE GAMES IN THE STATE OF OREGON. ECNL DOES NOT PLAY STATE CUP EITHER.

        8. Missing out on youth experiences because you are training or traveling all the time.
WHEN YOU WANT TO TRULY BE ELITE AT SOMETHING (music, acting, art, athletics, etc) YOU MAKE CHOICES TO PURSUE YOUR PASSION.

This list is such a joke. You ECNLers travel and train just as much, and probably more when you add in the rec High School soccer and summer tournaments you play in.

        Weak sauce!

Their girls don't have to pay to play because they figured out how to get about every soccer family in Oregon to fund it.

OYSA is saying they only get the player card fees. Peregrine (aka, funding for DA programs), is getting the meat (club fees, tournament revenue, etc). No wonder travel is free. It's all making sense now.

I'm all for dues going to those who are in need. I'm pretty sure I could walk circles around you.
And $2000 is still a pretty hefty fee for rec-level soccer.

Absolute lie. TA clubs are NOT ok with this. Not at all.

How about scrapping soccer altogether? OPL was ran by crooks, OYSA is ran by a bunch of GW followers. Just get rid of soccer in OR. It is by far the worst ran sport in the US. But, the clueless person will still pay.

Apparently you are not familiar with how volleyball and softball is run in this state.

Good thing we have a professional sports organization in Oregon soccer to tell us what to do, take our money, and screw us over at the drop of a hat.

Nobody forces your kid to play, last I checked.

OPL was a disaster with no infrastructure or oversight it was built on the premise of the foxes running the hen house.

BLOW UP OYSA and start over.
How do you propose to blow up OYSA and start over?

Come to the Town Hall and all will be revealed. Not by Steve and the apple dumpling gang (OYSA Board)
