I think it's hilarious
1. It was pretty accepted that Ecnl is a joke in Oregon and it's crippling the clubs. It is not what people were sold on and not only are kids getting underdeveloped but entire age groups are falling apart.
2. Ecnl parents who figured out this are now trying to use the same logic used against them. The IRONY in that. Poor development and cost..hahahaha
3. The DA isn't even going yet and some DA coach is on here trying to say it's the best thing and already proven...
4. Top level clubs are pulling out of DA because of the crony regulations and politics that US soccer is trying to control. Good for them.
5. Thorns have yet to show any quality but they go on and hire washed up coaches that aren't even good but look ok on paper.
This entire deal is funny

You are supporting the Timbers/Thorns Peregrine by playing in an OYSA league or cup and Peregrine is starving OYSA of any capital, that's why OYSA's hand was forced to raise their only revenue stream player cards.
You don't know what your doing or where the money goes so I support you get a clue.

2. Parents at CU & FC PDX don't have any chance to use logic, that was never on the table.
3. A savings of 8K on a 10K soccer product is actually the best thing ever for youth girls.
4. Top clubs (which we have none of) across the US have to make tough decisions play in GDA, play in US Club Soccers's ECNL or play in USYS leagues. The majority of clubs have stayed in the USYS and it looks like GDA and the US CLub soccer league each have about 60 to 80 clubs.
5. You need to understand coaching for girls is the least desired coaching job and gets the bottom of the barrel rejects across the GDA platform and all local clubs. Basically who coaches in the GDA is a non issue, just like the local club who don't have a stable of quality to choose from. If someone who is average wants to make a living coaching girls there are jobs a plenty in the college ranks for the females, they take them up first. Club soccer is left for soccer dads and ex pats trying to get income. Demand for girls coaches is much greater than the supply.

You just made a random assumption. But, it doesn't fit.

This makes travel soccer more affordable for the 36 girls who will be on the Thorns Academy roster.
Small price to pay to develop the next Mia Hamm.
Socialism at its best.

Top players do not need to go into the GDA bubble and give up their lives to get into college. I think it will be a B team mostly.

But Peregrine (Timbers/Thorns) are getting paid directly by clubs and OYSA members for Timbers/Thorns (OYSA sanctioned) leagues, cups, RTC & ODP. Nobody can track how Peregrine spends it's fungible income so it's actually capitalism at its best.
Hank Paulson was the flipping head of the Dept of Treasury for the US. his Son Merritt heads up the Peregrine Treasury with OYSA member $$$$ for non profit services.
MLS franchises have to think outside the box to generate profit, they did and we pay for it.
The ripple effect of all of this is the OYSA card increase. But it doesn't flow to the GDA/DA
