    Duck teams

With most of the other UO sport teams excelling why do they allow the soccer program to be so bad? Is this a title 9 write off for them or does the person overseeing the program blind besides the coach?

Kat's job was saved by the dumpster fire across the parking lot known as Oregon football. She is on thin ice. But I have to say I think they turned a corner this past year. The freshmen seemed to play with more courage and will to win than teams in years past. One of them transferred out but if she adds some strong players they might actually crawl out of the Pac12 basement next year.

Why isn't there a Duck men's soccer team?

Good question. Probably because they put all of their funding into football. They have a club soccer team that competes but it's like Rec soccer.

It's because UO is 100% socialist.

To be honest it's boys soccer, and this is the USA. UO has this right. Fund football and put your energy towards the men's sport.

They really didn't turn a corner last year. They played a tough OOC schedule and did manage to not get killed in those games, but in the Pac 12, they were a disaster. ASU dumped their coach last year so it's a good bet Oregon follows suit this year. The trouble with UO is that WSU and UW both had bad Pac 12 seasons too and I don't expect the same this year. UO will struggle with Cal, Colorado, and Utah. Will almost assuredly lose to Stanford and USC and UCLA. So they have to hope that they can have some success against ASU, Arizona, UW and WSU and Oregon State. I doubt UW or WSU lose to UO, and they won't go 3-0 vs. ASU, UA and Oregon State, so two wins is what I see, at best. So anyone who committed to UO can dread the incoming of a new coach and just pray that the new coach likes them.

                It's called title IV.

At least for now, soccer is mostly a girls sport in the USA. Even the colleges that do have a men's soccer team, heavily recruit foreign players.
