    gda

Why is there no information about it yet? The gda programs elsewhere (like Crossfire Premier and San Diego Surf) have already announced their coaches and tryout dates. Are the timbers just going to slap this together at the last minute?

Thorns GDA isn't going to happen. Just like many of the others that were "accepted" into the GDA, they've since folded their tent.

Not only have others announced coaches and tryouts, many have already had their tryouts and have formed teams. Thorns will wait until after ECNL tryouts and then take the "B" teamers, pine riders, and dreamers that are left over and whose parents can write a $20K check, then announce that they'll play one more year in OYSA.

They will announce soon and GDA will cost approx 1/5th of what ECNL costs all-in. All the top 04s will trend there first. Will be an excellent program.

The 2004s will be 7th & 8th graders next year. Those middle schoolers that want to give up everything to play soccer full time in GDA with the same old coaches, might sign up in droves. They will be pushing GDA hard at RTC all this year. I still say, wait it out and join when it is a sure thing. Let other kids be the guinea pigs this year.

ODP state teams were just picked for 04's. They need a month or so to brainwash those families and convince them thorns academy is their guaranteed shot at making the national team. Once their indoctrination is complete they will release the details.

Hold your horses. You don't need this information right now. You will know in due time. Why the impatience.

Hahaha. More like 5x the cost of ECNL, especially with all travelling to NorCal to play OYSA Div 1 level competition.

GDA will never be a sure thing. Move along, nothing to see here...

The RTC coaches are doing a full court press on GDA this year. It's pretty bad. They are concerned about not getting numbers out for try outs.

Zero reason to do GDA's first year, especially as a 7th/8th grader. Decent players can wait till they are sophomores, then jump in if it has panned out.

04 is a weak age group.

Love how Ecnl (joke in Oregon) parents are worried because their crap league and experience can't even stand up to a coming program that probably will end up being crap like Ecnl in Oregon.

It's very weak and if the top players get spread out across GDA and ECNL it's a bust for all. FC Portlands 04 team isn't even in the top OYSA bracket. Imagine what that group will look like to the rest of the region once an ECNL patch goes on the jersey.

Agreed. Age group is so weak that in past filled ODP spots with 05s.
