    Now what?

The season is over. What are y'all doin this summer? Obviously we know what Ireland is doing next month, but what else?

Anybody decide which tournaments they're doing yet?

Who's lookin for some friendly games this summer?

At this point Sunderland is considering:

    Rainier Challenge: Jun 12-14

    Cascade Cup: July 10-12
    or
    Crossfire Challenge

    Lake Oswego Nike Cup

    Plus one more

Eggy is always looking for friendlies but he has no say on when, where, or who Sunderland plays

Being new to Oregon soccer and not having to go through a tryout yet, I ask "Is Oregon tryouts as crazy as Washingtons."

Reading the Washington Forum it sounds like most of the teams up north have completely retooled their rosters. Players switching teams all over the place. Major roster blow-ups.

The only "normal" area seams to be the Couve'. Sounds like the Timbers 94, Xplosion and Nemesis 94 are all staying the same for the most part.

What is it going to be like in August in Oregon?

                Eggy,
From my 4 years of experience [rookie] I can say that it's pretty much the same. I know that a few players will always 'jump ship' and any coach worth his weight is always looking to recruit quality players. Every year teams will lose a couple just through attrition.
The first year I joined a club it was explained this way; "Let's say I am the Orlando Magic basketball team. I have my 5 starters and my 2 key bench supporters. The roster holds 15 total. Every year we might try to add 1 to that top 7 group, but the bottom 8 will rotate all the time with new talent trying to break into the top spots."
I thought that was a good analogy because my daughter would get upset when a few of her friends didn't make the team from one year to the next.
I know I'm preaching to the choir because you folks could probably school me in all aspects of soccer but, since I had a couple minutes, I thought I throw this out.

Hope the try outs produce many quality players for all!

                Cheers :)

WSM Harambee hasn't changed much since U12. Six girls are still with the team from U11, another five are still with the team from U12, 1 from U13 and 2 from u14. I know Southside Ireland and FC Portland Marine still have their core group together. I know Eastside Sunderland had some issues during U11, maybe U12, but I think they've had most of the same group the past two years. I haven't seen OR Rush in nearly 2 years so I got no clue what they look like! hahahahaha ... Lake O gets a ton of girls at tryouts so I would guess they change a bit over the years. That's about all I know. HM and SV probably have a good take on that question.

Eggy, never seen a Washington tryout so don't know how different they are from Oregon tryouts.
