Cold not an issue. Normally wet not an issue, but standing water makes the field unplayable. Under normal circumstances the Rec center would have closed the fields as you are not allowed to play with standing water.

When the head of officials tries to stop the game due to unplayable conditions then the coaches and directors should listen. It is a league game game between both local teams and can and should have been rescheduled

Which ECNL games were played at THPRD? They were all played at PCC Rock Creek on turf that drains just fine.

Ecnl Oregon isn't getting the best players. Their older teams had a good year but based on teams that were already assembled. I don't think anyone trusts the coaches and clubs anymore. Too many stories of smoke and mirrors

They don't get them all - some live too far away - but they do get all the best players in the Portland metro area.

Only one of the turf fields at THPRD is presently usable; Field 2 is being resurfaced and is out of commission for a couple months.

Games were played at PCC, THRPD manages those fields as well and has a policy that the fields should be closed if standing water

"should" is not "must" and "standing" water is subjective. To me the fields were draining just fine. No issues. Sorry your DD's team lost.

Daughter's team didn't lose. Fields were not draining, in fact when you would stand on the field the turf would bubble up around your feet due to so much water. Plain and simple when the head of officials tries to cancel the game for player safety due to unplayable conditions the coaches should honor. They could have played the game anytime and any day

When would anyone expect that they care about the players. You've got coaches that don't even know their players names. They are dollar signs and space fillers. Don't expect your voice to mean something

If an Official wants to call a game due to field conditions the coaches should support it. Period. ECNL has a schedule they have to follow and it's not as flexible as local leagues. They have made Texas and Florida teams play in blistering heat and humidity that college coaches wouldn't dare.

Today I learned those in charge of ECNL are more concerned with playing the game vs. player safety. The only person that was concerned was a referee who was trying to call someone to have game cancelled and he was quickly run off.

Love the league, but today lost a ton of respect for both Directors

Do you think either Directors care about anything other than their egos and getting paid?

Not sure if either one of them had a ton of respect before last weekend.
