Seriously, there is little doubt in my mind that the initial reason Oregon was denied DA for the 05 group, was due to the TA and their plan to bus their way to greatness. Cue the Timbers honk protesting this, but i truly believe this. They were attempting to create a monopoly on the 05's and lure them with the Menudo tour bus.

So then why did DA give all these clubs 05 teams? I thought Timbers call the shots with the DA?

The DA clubs organized it themselves and told US Soccer they would do it all themselves. US soccer than gave their blessing and endorsement instead. Think about it....what possible reason was there not to have 05 DA in Oregon, when EVERY other state with DA was grantes and 05 DA? I honestly cannot say for sure that it was due to Timbers Academy and Political BS, but I also cannot say for sure that it wasn't.

What are the annual fees for DA at each club? Are they the same across the board?

Tryouts have happened so not sure but you can see if cost info is still posted on clubs' websites.

Curious what the guaranteed play time is across the board for these clubs. Are they all the same?

Everyone is suppose to get equal playing time, but don't buy it for a second.

I believe the goal is 50% playing time, not equal playing time. That was our experience with the '04 group last year. At this level, that's appropriate. The kids who put the most time in on their own outside of DA training typically earned a little more playing time, but everybody got at least 50%.
