So let me ask again. Why do you want ECNL to fail and hand over a complete monopoly of youth soccer to the crooks and scam artists running Oysa? ECNL isn't taking money out of every soccer player's pocket by raising our fees to underwrite the ECNL teams. ECNL isn't putting their elite teams back into OYSA to beat down and demoralize their former teammates. ECNL isn't doing anything except offering consumers a choice. And if we the consumers don't like what they have to offer we don't buy it. Isn't that good?

The people cheering for ECNL to fail just completely boggle my mind.
So it's ok for the "crooks" to take over the boys side completely with DA?

I believe there is an ECNL-type offering in the works for boys. I don't have a boy playing anymore so I'm not following that side as closely. But I am very concerned about the scam OYSA is perpetuating on all of us. You should be too.

There are people working to right the ship at OYSA and in the relationship with the Timbers. Encourage you to let you board and DOC know how you feel and get involved in your club and/or OYSA as a board member.

There are a number of dimensions in the OYSA/Timbers relationship that are deeply problematic, from a commercial (10-yr exclusive contract), governance (real and potential conflicts) and sporting (running a league, entering teams, affiliating others, and having separate teams that arguably compete with it) perspective.

          Big Brother is Watching

I wrote the OP about OYSA not publishing u17 scores. Important to note that within 30 minutes of my post, OYSA posted those missing scores. Nice to know our fees are being used to pay someone to monitor this board.

Thorns looked at the possibility of playing in the RCL. WYS suggested they not if they wanted to not further tarnish their already bad reputation. Even though RCL Div 1 teams are significantly watered down now with 3 ECNL clubs in the state, they felt that Thorns Academy would still get relegated to Div 2 after just 1 season.

Whichever OYSA paid monitor is watching the board this week, can you please post the thorns academy scores? I know your academy teams are all that, but since they chose to sandbag in OYSA this winter they should be expected to follow the same rules the rest of us do - report scores within 24 hours. Unless they DID report them and you are too embarrassed to post them?

More games than the Thorns Academy's are still not posted. Why? They aren't listed as being contested scores. Why are scores missing?

Every single family with a kid playing under the OYSA umbrella is subsidizing this team. We have a right to know what we are getting for our involuntarily investment. Are you listening Mike and Erik? We want scores and we want them posted promptly as clearly stated in the league rules. Unless thorns teams are above those rules?

Of course they are above the rules. They don't pay for leagues or tournaments, they can play any age the want, they decide when the rest of teams can have tryouts, etc.

Paid board monitors got one thorns academy score posted (out of 3 games this weekend). We are now at 96 hours past the Saturday game. Curious as to what sanction OYSA plans to take against thorns teams for refusing to follow league rules?

Standard arrangement is that if scores aren't reported by both team managers, score is entered from official referee report. I'm not aware of any penalties against teams (or managers) for failing to report scores; but there are lots of teams that are frequently tardy about this.

Rule N1, page 11 of winter league rules:

"Teams are required to enter their scores into the Affinity Game System within 48 hours of the game ending."

I don't see a footnote saying "does not apply to Thorns Academy teams.

Does it say "does not apply to Thorns Academy teams" or "Zero" where I lists how much it costs for a team to play in the league?

It does not. But quit complaining. You are lucky to have the privilege of supporting this team. One day you will be in your BarcaLounger eating chips and you'll watch a World Cup game. You'll turn to your wife and say "remember when we helped Salem Superstar pay her fees in OYSA?" That's the closest your family will get to the big leagues so be grateful for the opportunity.

Literally at least half of the 01 Thorns Academy will be on the USWNT for sure. It is our patriotic duty to pay all of their expenses. It's the least we can do.
