It's a pay to play event. Just like the "European Soccer tour" emails that land in my mailbox every few months. They take every kid that pays the fees and can afford the travel.
For sending kids to Gothia Cup and winning the G'03 top league.
It's always nice to see a local super small Recreational level Club have some success.
Gothia Cup is kinda like Beaverton Cup except worse. And Hillsboro SC is a low-level rec club that will take any rogue 4-times fired for cause coach and his merry band of lemming parents.

It is funny how much those lemming parents have achieved in sports and life. Judging by the talent of their kids, they must have good genes. So strong, in fact, that they keep winning in spite of their no good salesman of a coach.
Gothia cup in Sweden was a great experience. You play teams from everywhere. There were teams from Africa, Russia and Asia. its not a difficult one to get into but obviously expensive to participate but with the events and atmosphere is fantastic.
I just wonder why so many people respond with attacks or jealousy. You got parents that pay 10k a year to play in a national league that most of the games aren't even worth it and you are underdeveloping your kid but a pay to experience tournament is bad?
You keep thinking that the league you play in will determine your kids future.

Have you ever questioned the person who tells you ECNL games are not worth it and kids are under developed. Seems you just eat those tiny balls of tright. Hopefully in time you get to play one of those ECNL teams.

What have they achieved? Winning in a league that doesn't include the best players in the state? Way to go! You won the "B" league. Congrats.

Perhaps you should take a deep breath, allow your tunnel vision to clear, and read the quote again. It doesn't reference the girls' achievements. Your bitterness is especially apparent when you speak directly to the 13 year olds: "YOU" won the 'B' league. Congrats." What did they do to deserve your misguided wrath?

Was speaking directly to the parents of the 13 year olds. It's the parents that get so wrapped up in all this, not the kids, most of whom won't even be playing the game in 2 years. GPS parents are real works of art, that's for sure.
