We were treated like second class citizens as the big 6 clubs catered to parents who balked at actually driving to Eugene or Bend for a game (against teams that usually beat the big 6 so spare me the "they weren't competitive" argument). TA wouldn't exist if OPL hadn't shoved the non PDX clubs out the door. You all suck as far as I'm concerned.
Might want to do a little research. The Eugene/Bend/Medford teams in OPL had bad losing records against Portland metro teams. Just the facts.

Bend, Salem and Eugene all have teams on the girls side who are very competitive and gave the OPL teams good games on a regular basis. Medford I don't know. But the bigger problem is that the whiny, Portland-centric OPL parents didn't want to drive anywhere to play soccer. And the OPL honchos listened to them and froze out the rest of the state. The only thing - and I mean only thing - OYSA did for those outlying teams was make and keep the promise that schedules would be equal home and away. Because of that small issue, youth soccer was fractured in Oregon and remains a complete mess. No one benefits from this. The Portland parents got their way and didn't have to drive to Medford. And what resulted? If their kid was good they joined ECNL and traveled even farther. If their kid was mediocre or they couldn't afford the travel they were relinquished to the Portland Backyard Rec League (motto "Club Prices and Rec Level Competition!).

The non Portland area parents fared no better. They got their tiny concession of equal home and away games. And in return they are at the mercy of the most corrupt and dishonest set of folks to ever run a youth sports program. Ever. If they have an excellent player they can join ECNL and travel more than they ever did with OPL. And if they don't have an excellent player or don't want the travel they are assimilated by the Timbers Borg.

Oregon soccer - where everyone loses except the Timbers Alliance administrators.

CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce a three-year partnership with the Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) who become the first US State Association to join the club’s lauded International Partnership Programmed.
The partnership will involve OYSA hosting two coach education clinics per year in Oregon, USA where Celtic FC coaches will share valuable insights into how Celtic Football Club develops young players.
Coaches from Oregon will also be invited to Glasgow to train with their Celtic counterparts as well as having the opportunity to visit Celtic’s renowned annual International Coaches Convention in Glasgow.
With over 55,000 players and 10,000 coaches registered within their organization, the Oregon Youth Soccer Association represents the largest partner to join forces with the Bhoys.
Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers said: ‘’I’m delighted to hear that we are continuing to build our international football partnerships around the world with the addition of Oregon Youth Soccer Association.
“Celtic is a football club that is synonymous with investing in coaches so that we can help develop young players. If we can add value to the fantastic work done by all these hardworking grassroots coaches in the US by sharing some of our expertise, then that not only helps these clubs but also extends the size of our global Celtic family.’’
John Madding, OYSA Technical Director, added: ‘’The Oregon Youth Soccer Association is excited to partner with the world-renowned Celtic FC. Over the past year we have worked closely to design a relationship that will focus on continued development opportunities for our coaches.
“Celtic FC has a rich history of player and coach development both in Scotland and here in the US and we are looking forward to working with their staff in new and creative ways.’’
The first visit to OYSA is planned for January, 2017 and will see Celtic’s International Soccer Academy Manager, Willie McNab travel to Oregon to deliver a coach education workshop.
Speaking of the historic agreement McNab said: “We are delighted to welcome Oregon Youth Soccer Association to our International Partnership Programme and it again emphasises our commitment to building relationships across the globe.
“This is the first ever partnership with a State Association within North America and we are very keen to build on this. OYSA is a very ambitious and progressive organisation and we are looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership.”
