I think you have a wide range, wider than any other sport. This is primarily do the enormous numbers of youth athletes who play. The top club teams generally have top athletes who can generally play any sport they want. And often times they do. Eventually, by high school, some of those top athletes leave soccer for other sports or because they are completely burnt out. For whatever reason, competitive soccer seems to demand more commitment than many of the other sports, and that often results in burnout.

Soccer, more than any other sport in the U.S., has so many teams that there is an option for the very best athletes, and the very worst athletes.

No other sport requires the amount of fitness, explosiveness, and skill as soccer. Not baseball, not basketball, and certainly not football... hell the vaunted wide-receiver is usually a former track sprinter who decides one day to try and catch a ball for money instead of just running around a track.

This is simply false. Soccer is not for the weak or passive. Once you hit teenage years, you must be physical and aggressive or you will not play competitive soccer. Other than football, the toughest kids play soccer... at least at the competitive levels.

Not soccer in the US. All Weaklings. All top athletes in the US play Football and Basketball. Soccer is for wimpy white kids with helicopter mother's. Truth. Want proof? See where the money goes....soccer wimps in the US make nothing. Face it...your just trying to WILL your kids sport into acceptance...people in the US hate soccer... period.
