No offense intended to BSC--but they played non-premier in the fall, prem white in the Spring, and over-achieved in State Cup. They weren't ever league rivals of Copa--instead, their chief rival from Westside was the Samba team. So it's rather unlikely that a BSC parent would know much about Copa and its players. Even if a BSC player was on RTC and knew some of the Copa kids--they never faced Copa in OYSA play until the State Cup quarterfinals.

(How the top OYSA teams interleave in here is an interesting question)
1. Crossfire (def FC 4-2)
Did well over summer, smoked FC Portland in the first league game. That gets them #1 after the first weekend.
2. Washington Timbers (idle)
Haven't played yet, but based on summer play, I'm putting them here.
3. Westside Timbers (def. BSC 3-1).
A generally poor summer season, followed by a coaching change, followed by a win in the first league game. The fact that they scored 3 goals against a BSC team that only allowed them one last summer with their TA players still around, is a good sign. Still, not entirely sold.
4. FC Portland (lost to Crossfire 4-2)
Defending state champs find themselves in the #4 spot. Whereas WT lost an efficient offense to the Timbers' Academy, FC has lost a stifling defense, and gives up four goals in the opener. Reportedly did poorly in the recent scrimmages, though I'm not including those results in these rankings.
5. Capital FC Timbers (idle).
Got spanked by FC up in the Crossfire Challenge, so they start here until they win.
6. BSC Oregon (lost to Westside 3-1).
Their fast-paced style of play from last year ought to translate well to the 11v11 game--but instead gave up 3 goals to a Westside team that has had trouble scoring them against good, fast defenses. Perhaps the kids who played up in 04 DA last year (and one assumes are doing so again) were really that important to BSC's state cup success--minus them, this was a team that was borderline premier.
7. Eastside Timbers (Idle).
Reportedly knocked off FC at the scrimmages a while back. Unfortunately, the voter in this poll gives that very little weight--and given that Eastside did not field a premier team in 05B last year, they start at the bottom until they prove otherwise. Head coach is a smart soccer mind, and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet--his unfortunate departure from Westside two years ago pissed a LOT of parents off, and understandably so.

Each team gifted the other a goal - it happens at this age (well really any age). Shots were probably 15 to 2 in favor of Crossfire.
I wonder if FC pushed a couple of their stronger 05's in DA up to 04? They didn't have much depth today. Every kid on both teams played hard in tough conditions.
Overall a fun start for the DA season.

Please tell me that you are not referring to the goalie? He is athletic, I will grant you this. But he was not the most valuable player in OYSA. For that matter, he wasn't even top 4 on his team! FC's best player is still with FC and playing DA.
