There are several signed up at ADF also and a few that went to ADF before FC last night. I imagine parents/kids that want to advance technically.

Is that type of training opportunity being extended to all the 05's that did not "make" the roster and will therefore play for one of the little DA's or just the kids from last years 05 Copa team?

Apparently just Copa. My boy was at the Tryouts Monday & Tuesday, but has had no such offer extended. It looks like If you are from PCU you will not get the same opportunity! I have to admit, I read all of the doubters on here that questioned the validity of this "Super Team", but my boy wanted to go so we did.
What can it hurt right?
Well, I can now agree without a doubt that it was not the most deserving boys that got selected! It appeared that it was more about what club you played for and whether or not Fernando knew you!

If you want to take the moral High ground and not have your kid participate because you one boy is on the team because of his fathers money. Good for you. I think you are doing your child a disservice if he is good enough and wants to be there. However I can understand your stance.

However, what i do call BS on is how a group of people on here are saying the little DA's will be the same and the Timbers Da will cause burnout and a half of other BS reasons. Lets call what it is. Yes there is a parent of influence. No doubt we can all see that. But all the other nonsense about every weekend in Seattle and eight hours in a van will ruin these boys. This is all BS assumptions. Like I have said before. Go speak to the 03 group. But the complainers don't want to do that because it will not align with their BS.

Or here is an even easier and better solution to it all if you want to avoid the Timbers/Seattle issue- have your 05 play up in the 04 DA (if they are really that good) and the level of competion and training will ratchet up a whole extra level. The 05's that play in 04 will get the opportunity to play against more kids that have gone through puberty and thus are bigger faster and stronger than even the best 05's

FYI, 2 PCU players were selected from the tryout and another was a player of interest. Another PCU player was already selected before the tryout.

That is an absolute farse.. It not just Copa boys who are players of interest. There were a couple boys in that category that happen to be Copa. There were also boys from other clubs who are players of intetest. And several Copa players who tried our and did not make it, nor are they players of interest.

Just because your son did not get a player of interest status, or make the team, doesn't mean
favor was given to Copa players. It means he was not talented enough.

My God you are the perfect mouthpiece for the Timbers. Do you know why? Because you are as effing clueless as they are. What you fail (and are apparently incapable) to grasp is that allowing a single individual to not only influence, BUT BUY the team (and that is what happened...coach paid for, and coach decides) corrupts the whole concept. We are consumers. The Timbers have either forgotten or never cared about this. WE decide what we want to invest in. When you see a morally corrupt sh*t show, you stay clear because you do not want your child to be caught up in it. This is why the Timbers DA does not have the BEST 05 group. People stayed away. Where there is moke, there is a dumpster of 💩 on fire.

The whole van across the river thing is only annoying to people, because it explains why initially there was not a designation for 05 DA. The effing Timbers used political BS to try and create a monopoly on the 05 group...and then totally effed that up by allowing BB and his coach to make this DS's team, and scared away consumers like us. I am neither jealous or for that matter concerned because I am free to choose the best experience for my DS. I, like many others did not choose the Timbers. The fact that you are on here ATTEMPTING to justify any of this explains all anybody needs to know about the 💩 show that is the Timbers Da.

No. The coach was told to pay attention to those three.. they are very good and two have been following the billups circus for a few years. Promises made. When coach was shown the door at ADF he continued to call these boys and their parents and train two of them for free behind the scenes. Notice how not one other kid from ADF went to the open tryout?
