More thoughts on today's WST/FC match:

    * The new no-heading rule seemed to bother both teams, especially FC. Both teams IIRC had headers in their own penalty boxes; no cards were handed out. FC had one in their own six-yard box, and defended the restart with all nine players on the goal line. WST didn't convert, however.

    * Minus headers, there were lots of short corner-kicks in the game. FC's long goalie punts did cause Westside some difficulty, though none led directly to a goal.

    * I really miss the AR's. Going to one center ref only for a premier 9v9 game sucks.

    * Field conditions were very slow and uneven--typical for Powerlines Park, which is not my favorite place for soccer. Both teams looked a little out of sorts and had trouble connecting passes.

    * FC's lone goal was off a perfect chip from along the end line, off the far post and in. Westside's keeper had no chance for save. Westside's goal wasn't as pretty.

      Adf

Adf completely outmatched physically and technically by crossfire. In addition adf on field conduct was terrible- screaming and whining at refs, swearing at opposing players and also taking obvious dirty cheap shots from behind. Will get really ugly and chippy next Sunday quick if ref (only having one ridiculous by the way) does not get players in check early

ADD list again 0-2 to Eugene...which lost 0-3 yesterday to Hoga Jr....whom lost today 0-9 to Crossfire. Bizarre

The wheels will come off at ADF. They have a core group of parents that hate losing. Plus the 9v9 team has 18 on the roster and have 4 that never play. Now coaches', you may need to run more functional practice sessions instead of getting all your players performing scissors ;-)

          Watch this space.

absolutely disgusted by how ADF allows players to behave on the field. win at all cost regardless of attitude, bullying, dirty play, language, etc. multiple cancers on the 05 team (players and parents). this is going to be the longest fall season ever.

Well, it looks like Crossfire flexed it's muscle as the team to beat in Oregon. IFC Eagles, FC Port, Westside & Bend Timbers(what a surprise) will be in the chase pack. I know that Eugene & 4H Joga are cureently ahead of those other teams with 3 pts, but they will slowly fade as their schedule gets tougher.

It was quite frustrating watching the boys on all teams go up for headers and then move out of the way :( . I agree that change, along with one center ref really changes the game in a negative manner.

IF WE AS PARENTS ARE WORRIED ABOUT HEAD INJURIES THEN WE HAVE THE OPTION OF NOT HAVING OUR CHILDREN PLAY IN THE SPORT. TAKING A FUNDAMENTAL TACTIC AWAY FROM PLAYERS IS NOT GOOD FUTBOL!!! IF THIS RULE IS NOT OVERTURNED, WE WILL SEE IN ABOUT 10 YEARS THAT ALL THE PROGRESS MADE BY THE USMNT TO BE MORE COMPETITIVE INTERNATIONALLY FADE AWAY!! ARE KIDS WILL NOT BE LEARNING A KEY PART OF SOCCER UNTIL AN OLDER AGE AND IT WILL SHOW!!!

                Question

Curious how ***C was left out of Premier Green and ADD was placed in. I am not trying to be rude, but I have seen both teams a couple times now and it is my opinion that ***C is a better, more competitive team.

                    "Long punting"?
That shows that a coach is failing the players.
There really shouldn't be any punting at this ages. The goalkeeper should put the ball on the carpet and build out of the back. Punting could be used once or twice to counter building out of the back.

You are not living in Barcelona! The majority of Oregon players could take or leave soccer. How can you teach the 'right way' when 85% of players (may be more) never watch the game or work on it themselves? This is why ADF, GPS and personal trainers are in the game. They sell this bullsh** and parents take the bait. It's silly!! Everyone take a step back and look where we are. We are in a country that does not understand development. We are in a state that is one of the worst in a country that does not get it. Just get the kids to enjoy it for what it is. A fantastic sport that can teach some amazing life lessons.

My guess is that you don't know the coach very well.

Clubs like ADF, GPS, RCF Select futsal, and personal trainers are in this for kids that actually do watch and play the beautiful game and want to become technically advanced.

My guess is that you are ADF, GPS, RCF. Bilking parents out of their money telling them their kid will be 'advanced'

List the players that you have produces. Show me the product.

While I somewhat agree with you I will say that the clubs mentioned above do not develop footballers, they recruit footballers.

We do a decent enough job in the USA of development. On the men's side soccer gets almost zero of the elite athletes. Football, basketball, baseball, hockey and lacrosse skim hundreds of thousands of the best athletes. So you start from behind.

What the USA does with the C team athletes is pretty impressive.
