Oregon teams will always get the seeding shaft at Surf, now that they have 3 or more divisions at each age group. Surf was elite, now it is just a tournament like any other.

Surf will take the money, but never recognize the coach. He does not have a good reputation.

No one gets turned down anymore. They just create more divisions.

They used to turn down 175-225 teams each year. They figured that if the spread it out over two weeks that they could make a killing. I have heard that the fields are tore back and have struggled to stay nice with adding triple the game load.

Some age groups have added four divisions.

I still think it is a good trip. GPS is playing at a level just slightly below a Beaverton cup level. The main thing is San Diego is beautiful and one of the best places to vacation. In the end that's what matters at that age.
