That is pretty funny. Unless it winds up being true.

I can't blame them, it is all new. But a little due diligence would be nice.
I didn't realize Sean Spicer was running the Timbers/Thorns DA/GDA programs. Get it together please. You are not inspiring confidence in a new program.

Laugh all you want but I enjoy the long trips with my kid. You will cherish those long drives when they are older and moved out of the house.

That's all well and good but you realize Academy kids do not travel with their parents. So she will be traveling 16 hours on the bus with her team and coaches.

Nothing wrong with that. If they Drive with parents and bunk in with parents. Helps keep costs down.

Airfare included. Only games they will be bussing to are in Washington.

I can't believe they didn't go to the trouble to read the documents for the program they signed up for.

Not true. You can travel by bus to Norcal. Just miss Thursday, Friday and Monday during the school year. Plenty of time to do homework. Home Schooling will be encouraged.

I know you're being facetious, but like most jokes there's a hint of truth. The website states out of town players are expected to attend all practices and will do "home stays" with Portland players during the week. So it's obvious they expect the Eugene and Bend kids to either drive 16 hours a week to and from practice or stay in portland and be home schooled. Can't believe any parent would allow this.

Just thinking out loud but what if you can choose a NorCal Thorn Sister. You stay at their play on trips down south and they stay at your place when they come up north.

Since I am sure the Thorns are supporting both teams, it is a win win for them.

Advertising on Craigslist you can find places to stay cheap. Keep cost down for the team

Greyhound to NorCal and home stays will help the budget.

The US Soccer prohibition on try out fees for girls DA was easy to miss. Don't blame the people at the bottom of the ladder.

They should correct this immediately. US soccer could pull their invite and that would be awkward.

Bro, don't play with matches. You are a fool, but at least you are our fool. Hate to see you hurt yourself and we get deprived of your witless comments.

The whole point is to reduce the barriers to entry. That's why they have that rule. Trying to implement an excessive $125 try out fee is opposite of that.
