Kind of dumb to have a tourney the same weekend as Clash at the Border.

THUSC isn't even the top club in Beaverton. :)

Just like Eastside's crap tournament. There have been too many tourneys in Portland for years now and some are finally getting the boot. Beaverton Cup will be next to go.

No...Beaverton Cup is attracting the top teams in the Pacific NW. That's why Thorns academy teams are playing on age in it this year.

Well, if we define "Beaverton" to include the district boundaries of THPRD and the Beaverton School District, and we ignore the Timbers DA (which trains in Beaverton, but has no other attachment there), I'd say the top teams in Beaverton are:

            1) Westside Timbers.
            2) BSC Oregon
            3) Aloha United
            4) Westside Warriors
            5) Somerset West
            6) Milltown
            7) Oak Hills
            8) West Hills
            9) THUSC

If we expand the definition of "Beaverton" by a quarter mile or so, FCP and NSC get added to the list (having their training grounds just outside the THPRD boundaries), and THUSC drops out of the top ten.

This has been a CRAP tourney for years

Sad thing is that Tom only cares about ECNL---the majority of the club, the rank and file, have been forgotten. It's ECNL, all day, all week, all month. Regular teams just do not matter.

Their board is absolutely worthless....just a bunch of 'yes sir' types....kissing TA's backside.

The tourney had essentially evolved into scrimmages amongst their own teams. You can do that on any Tuesday at Commonwealth Lake Park.

Hey, let's have the U15 ECNL team scrimmage the U15 C team and call it a TOURNAMENT.....

Even the die-hard parents and those that had been with the club for years and years finally said 'enough is enough'---we are paying for this and all we are doing is scrimmaging ourselves.

Club has definitely gone way downhill over the past 4-5 years. Cannot keep reliving the Onyx glory days---those girls are all seniors in HS now and will soon be off into the real world. Onyx ship has sailed.

That's not fair. THUSC is better than at least half of those rec clubs. 2/3 if you only care about girls.

Crossfire is in disarray. They don't have qualified DOC's to run anything. They don't have a path with any sort of curriculum let alone implement it. They are struggling

You guys are funny. These hate threads are so transparent: THUSC is now dominating the young girls' age groups (u11-u13) + ECNL at the older. On the girls side, they have left all clubs on the westside behind.

                          Youngers girls:
                          1. THUSC
                          2. Pacific, NEU, FC
                          3. Everyone else

                          Older girls:
                          1. Crossfire/FC
                          2. FC Salmon Creek
                          3. Everyone else

Where do you think THUSC's Tom Atencio got the majority of players from to begin with? Those rec clubs and drawing in from other classic clubs.

The best post by a mile!
What's really sad is that the THUSC parent also hates the club. They whine and complain but will not do anything about it. The board also complains about the moronic DOC but still keep him around so it does not harm their daughters chances of not being on a team. This club has been on the decline for years. It is a myth that they have a strong girls program.
