[QUOTE=Unregistered;1833188]There are players making Academy that are not top 10 on their club team. There is no explanation other than political, who you know. It's the only thing that makes sense. It makes some top talent not even show up when they see that.[/nips

This is completely true from what I've seen first hand with our State Cup winning team. It's disheartening, but the Timbers must condone it. That's why those Academy teams aren't winning in competition.

FWIW, someone asked a question about former WST/WSM pros, I answered. Someone else took a few shots at other clubs.

Probably should add Adrian Villegas to the list--while not yet pro (still too young), he has some national team duty under his belt.

That said, if you pay attention to this forum at any length of time, it seems the worst trolls are the parents of girls at the various ECNL clubs...

More than from your club, for sure. And not difficult to find out either:

            1. Is it possible to love soccer, live in Oregon, and not be a fan of the Timbers?
            2. Is it only spiteful people that are in category #1?

Got no gripe with fans of the Timber or fans of their alliance club; however, past the point where loving soccer + loving Oregon = loving the Timbers

ECNL created all those players? Wow. Where is Crossfires list? I thought Thusc was the premier girls club in the area, where is their list?

Hard to compare boys/men with girls/women. The US dominates in ladies soccer, and Millbrett was a world-class player. The number of world-class men's players that the United States has produced (excluding goalkeepers) can be counted on one hand--simply join your index finger and thumb in a circle, and there you go.

OTOH, only Johnson on the list above is still an active player. (And didn't Millbrett play for HSC and Hill High? Her youth career was back in the dark ages of American soccer, after all...)

(And at least two players on your list don't appear to have had a notable professional career; though they did play collegiately.)

Even a professional career that is not "notable" is still 100% more than any Timbers Alliance player. Face it, Timbers Alliance clubs just don't "get" girls soccer. Never have, never will. All the top players figure this out by U13 and then jump ship for FCP, THUSC, or Crossfire. Just the way it is. Don't try to fight it.

Definitely possible to be #1. Lot of transplants from other regions / countries live in the Portland area. Timbers 1st team is OK, I guess, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch their games. And since the Timbers became involved in youth soccer, my opinion of the organization has only gotten worse.

If you're talking about girls, I won't argue much. If you're talking about guys, though, it's pretty much the opposite.

Boys play soccer? I thought they all did "manly" sports like football, basketball, baseball, rugby, lacrosse, etc?

ECNL didn't make those players they were well before ECNL was around. They just played at FCP. ECNL would have made them even better.

                              Made them better? Really. Wow.
